Is it necessary to start your database over from scrap from time to time, deleting it and mining intensively? In order to update the stats of players, considering they could be changing their game style.
Or is it fine to maintain the same database for months and years and simply allow the update to happen as you play?
The new version of elephant has a feature in the HUD where you can view the stats of the players for the current session. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking to do, but it can help you see if someone is changing their playing style. Of course the session would have to be over the course of a couple hundred hands, but most players you see regularly either multitable or play for quite a stretch at a time, so it shouldn't be difficult to spot a change in style. And you don't have to mess with your database for the sake of a few players.
lateon, we will implement an automated process where stats of your oponents get deleted or will not be used for hud display, if you wish so.
