Hey peepz,

Some might recognize my name, some might not. For those that don't know me, I'm a moderator/coach/hj at the dutch part of PS (hence the mod-avatar). I've been playing NL50-200 with different approaches and results, mostly due to badrun induced spews making them bad :P.

I'm starting a new blog again to get some consistency in my (poker)-life. The last few weeks all i did was partying and after a day ending at a medical post and a few days later partying till 10 in the morning, i really noticed i needed some consistency back in my life.
In 2,5weeks my internships start, so that'll be some consistency, untill then i want to focus alot on poker and get my game and roll back in shape for nl200.

What i'll post in this blog are hands i'm having trouble with or perhaps those i find played perfectly (I.e. AA allin pre  ). And videos i might've watched. The last few days i got a bit more active on the Dutch side again, helping people in their blogs with hands. Might as well do it here.

I hope you guys will join me in this new journey and i'm still looking for a new studygroup for these limits, so if you know one/or want to start one, let me know!

YAY MY FIRST NEW FOLLOWER.

Anyways, started up a shortish NL50 session, after running superbad at nl100 earlier today, multiple times a stupid setup or where bad plays get rewarded from badregs.
Thought it would continue after this gay suckout vs a whale,

SB: $23.04 (46.1 bb)
BB: $112.35 (224.7 bb)
Hero (UTG): $53.02 (106 bb)
MP: $85.41 (170.8 bb)
CO: $50 (100 bb)
BTN: $54.76 (109.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 5 A
Hero raises to $1.50, MP calls $1.50, 4 folds

Flop: ($3.75) A 3 5 (2 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $2.81, Hero raises to $8.50, MP calls $5.69

Turn: ($20.75) 6 (2 players)
Hero bets $13, MP raises to $29.87, Hero raises to $43.02, MP calls $13.15

River: ($106.79) T (2 players)

Results:

Spoiler

$106.79 pot ($4 rake)
Final Board: A 3 5 6 T
Hero showed 5 A and lost (-$53.02 net)
MP showed 6 6 and won $102.79 ($49.77 net)

I'll try 'n keep the suckout/badbeats whining to mininum in this blog, as it helps no-one. I'll only post them if there might've been a way to play it differentely or better. As for example, right after the above hand i was thinking how unbalanced my range actually is, Vs a whale it doesn't matter. But if a reg ch/raises me on such board texture i'm throwing away alot probably cuz it's never a bluff and most likely 2p+.

And a funny hand where a guy reps quite little, I could've shoved flop, but he kept such weird stacks behind for the turn i'd figure just calling was better.

SB: $56.89 (113.8 bb)
BB: $50 (100 bb)
MP: $73.58 (147.2 bb)
CO: $52.56 (105.1 bb)
Hero (BTN): $50 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with 8 J
MP folds, CO raises to $1.50, Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, CO calls $2.50

Flop: ($8.75) 3 2 9 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $4.75, CO raises to $13, Hero calls $8.25

Turn: ($34.75) 2 (2 players)
CO checks, Hero bets $12, CO folds

Results:

Spoiler

$34.75 pot ($1.73 rake)
Final Board: 3 2 9 2
CO mucked and lost (-$17 net)
Hero mucked 8 J and won $33.02 ($16.02 net)

Third hand before i go to some friends, saterdayevening, can't skip some beers that night eventho it's fishy as hell :(

Preflop call is questionable to me, it's rather big, which to me looked bluffier, the hand is too nice to turn into a bluff myself imo, i wouldn't mind folding it vs good regs. This guy was rather obvious in his plays so i called, missed value OTR tho, a suckerbet of 1/3 pot would've been best. As his range is either complete air or some weak Ax type of hand.

SB: $50 (100 bb)
BB: $73.27 (146.5 bb)
UTG: $8.77 (17.5 bb)
MP: $62.38 (124.8 bb)
CO: $50 (100 bb)
Hero (BTN): $93.22 (186.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with T A
UTG calls $0.50, MP calls $0.50, CO folds, Hero raises to $2.50, SB raises to $8, 3 folds, Hero calls $5.50

Flop: ($17.50) T K 6 (2 players)
SB bets $9.50, Hero calls $9.50

Turn: ($36.50) 5 (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: ($36.50) A (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Results:

Spoiler

$36.50 pot ($1.82 rake)
Final Board: T K 6 5 A
SB showed J A and lost (-$17.50 net)
Hero showed T A and won $34.68 ($17.18 net)

Thanks guys!

@frankie, I'm playing on multiple sites, if i feel like a quick session i'd start zoom, otherwise probably regular tables on the other sites as they're a bit fishier.

Just finished another session, couldn't go any worse lol, down for month since a loooooooong time.
Gonna do something else for the moment to refresh my mind and might start another session later this evening. :) It's time to rebuild that castle of mine.

Just took a look over my ranges and they were quite unbalanced in some spots, or i was deviating too much from 'optimal'. Vs fish or badregs it's not that much of a problem but the few good ones were exploiting me i guess.

I got them in a nice Excel sheet now, but it's rather big and would like to have it as a image so i could use it as a background picture for quicker reference, anyone know how to do that?

Funny hand, almost won it entirely.

Amazed by the Flat from BB, he was playing 53/33 or something like that.

Hero (SB): $72.54 (145.1 bb)
BB: $20.80 (41.6 bb)
UTG: $50 (100 bb)
MP: $50 (100 bb)
CO: $50 (100 bb)
BTN: $27.72 (55.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with A A
UTG folds, MP raises to $1.50, CO raises to $4.25, BTN folds, Hero raises to $10.50, BB calls $10, MP raises to $50 and is all-in, CO folds, Hero calls $39.50, BB calls $10.30 and is all-in

Flop: ($125.05) 2 3 3 (3 players, 2 are all-in)
Turn: ($125.05) 6 (3 players, 2 are all-in)
River: ($125.05) T (3 players, 2 are all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$125.05 pot ($4.00 rake)
Final Board: 2 3 3 6 T
Hero showed A A and won $89.39 ($39.39 net)
BB showed A A and won $31.66 ($10.86 net)
MP showed K K and lost (-$50 net)

Shortish break to refresh a bit. Made one Big mistake imo in this hand.

Preflop i wonder if this hand is nicer to 3bet than to flat. And then flat All Axs to have more dominated fd's in our range.

Postflop in hindsight i'm probably better of just flatcalling his bet, 1) he doesn't bet Ax here all that often, eventough his stab% is 71%, vs 4villains he would potcontrol 2) he has all QT/QJ/KQ/AQ in his range i think.

On the turn i should've check/folded on this card eventough i bink my flush, which is weird

SB: $29 (58 bb)
Hero (BB): $59.67 (119.3 bb)
UTG: $62.14 (124.3 bb)
MP: $53.63 (107.3 bb)
CO: $56.49 (113 bb)
BTN: $59.21 (118.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T 9
UTG raises to $1.50, MP calls $1.50, CO folds, BTN calls $1.50, SB folds, Hero calls $1

Flop: ($6.25) Q A Q (4 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP checks, BTN bets $4.18, Hero raises to $11.39, 2 folds, BTN calls $7.21

Turn: ($29.03) J (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $15.01, Hero raises to $46.78 and is all-in, BTN calls $31.31

River: ($121.67) 9 (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$121.67 pot ($4.46 rake)
Final Board: Q A Q J 9
Hero showed T 9 and lost (-$59.67 net)
BTN showed Q J and won $117.67 ($58.46 net)

I like flat rather then 3bet because of the UTG raiser and a flatter, I mean without specific reads or stats on them I would flat pre. With the kind of hand he raise with UTG will most likely not fold to a 3b so imo just bad to put in more money in a pot where we can be up against monsters and we are out of position. Just my thoughts! :)

yea thought about it a bit and it's just best to just call with both (SC and Axs) and just 3bet/fold or 3bet/broke probably, cuz i don't expect that many flats here.

Forgot to mark hands last session lolz, hard to get volume in without zoom.

Found a weird one. UTG was a fishy player and cold4betting here would've been too strong i think, so i just flat and donk.
Turn isn't that much i could do else, card hits their ranges way harder imo.
River i should've bet myself or raise this shitty bet imo.

SB: $100.50 (100.5 bb)
Hero (BB): $101.50 (101.5 bb)
MP: $210.85 (210.9 bb)
CO: $117 (117 bb)
BTN: $102.26 (102.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with K K
MP raises to $2, CO folds, BTN raises to $6.10, SB folds, Hero calls $5.10, MP calls $4.10

Flop: ($18.80) T 2 J (3 players)
Hero bets $11, MP calls $11, BTN calls $11

Turn: ($51.80) Q (3 players)
Hero checks, MP checks, BTN checks

River: ($51.80) 2 (3 players)
Hero checks, MP bets $5, BTN calls $5, Hero calls $5

Results:

Spoiler

$66.80 pot ($3.34 rake)
Final Board: T 2 J Q 2
Hero showed K K and won $63.46 ($41.36 net)
MP showed T J and lost (-$22.10 net)
BTN showed K Q and lost (-$22.10 net)

how to not play the nuts

SB: $100.50 (100.5 bb)
Hero (BB): $100 (100 bb)
UTG: $116.41 (116.4 bb)
MP: $120.80 (120.8 bb)
CO: $103.31 (103.3 bb)
BTN: $62.73 (62.7 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8 9
UTG raises to $3, MP calls $3, 3 folds, Hero calls $2

Flop: ($9.50) T 6 4 (3 players)
Hero bets $7, UTG folds, MP calls $7

Turn: ($23.50) 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $17, MP raises to $34, Hero raises to $51, MP folds

Results:

Spoiler

$91.50 pot ($4 rake)
Final Board: T 6 4 7
Hero mucked 8 9 and won $87.50 ($43.50 net)
MP mucked and lost (-$44 net)

i'd figure i just 3bet the turn vs a passive fish for when another spade comes and maybe kills action.

MP: $100 (100 bb)
CO: $270.64 (270.6 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8 T
3 folds, Hero raises to $2, BB calls $1

Flop: ($4) 5 4 Q (2 players)
Hero bets $4, BB calls $4

Turn: ($12) K (2 players)
Hero bets $10, BB calls $10

Okey played the longest sessions for this year up till now i think. Damn people are fishy during the night. Last time i played around this hour is months back.
Won back almost everything i lost earlier this week, hotrun was on my side this time.
I.E. A fish posts a deadblind, i iso him, he shoves, i call with AKs. He shows AA, i win.
And some other spot where i sucked out with AK>AA aswell. So that's ~4BI above EV already.

Even wanted to fold KK pre vs a fish, he limp/raised after maybe 20 times of limping and he also open raised so his limp/raising range was mainly AA. But i couldn't fold :(

Oh well GN!

All things can help ;), I tend to have a bit different look at hands than most, getting different thought processes can't be that bad. Only if you're going to say stacking off 72o pre is +EV, then stfu

Played a shortish session of an hour, so swingy again. Had this seat on a table where this happened:

SB: $194.52 (194.5 bb)
BB: $100 (100 bb)
MP: $100 (100 bb)
CO: $33.79 (33.8 bb)
Hero (BTN): $120.10 (120.1 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q A
2 folds, Hero raises to $2, SB calls $1.50, BB raises to $10, Hero raises to $19, SB raises to $30, BB folds, Hero raises to $120.10 and is all-in, SB calls $90.10

Flop: ($250.20) 6 4 2 (2 players, 1 is all-in)
Turn: ($250.20) Q (2 players, 1 is all-in)
River: ($250.20) K (2 players, 1 is all-in)

Results:

Spoiler

$250.20 pot ($4 rake)
Final Board: 6 4 2 Q K
SB showed Q J and won $246.20 ($126.10 net)
Hero showed Q A and lost (-$120.10 net)

And then the software didn't let me rebuy, shitty software ftw, had to rejoin the waitinglist =.=

Played a quick zoom session(nl50) before my soccer practice. Got a bit carried away in the end i think. Made a stupid allin call at the start which was clearly -EV. :(
