fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, SB calls 15, Hero raises to 120, SB raises to 1,460 and is all-in, Hero ?

This situation has been coming up a lot for me lately and my unless Villain has very loose stats I always fold. But I'm wondering if I should be calling more of these. It just seems like a total guess and I can't figure out the range of this play at all. Any advice would be great, thanks!

Tough to say about his range, but I would be surprised if he shows premium hand like AK, JJ+. In this spot I would raise to 90. 120 will get usually much more folds, but that is really not what you want.

In this spot I would call, because this line does not make sense for premium hands and it's BvB situation where AQ is very strong hand. Make note on him about what he had.

+1 about this.

I would not call the shove. Villain is a tight player. I don't think often he is going to spew here. His range is ahead of us. I don't put him often on weaker aces and hands that we dominate in general. I would fold to his push.

I do agree that AQo is on borderline, but even if his range is toward mid pockets and just few combos we dominate it will be ok call.

E.g. versus 44-TT, AQ, AJ we get 51% equity. cEV wise we need 45.8%. ICM tax does make around 3% or so more equity needed. If we add some AK combos it would get around breakeven.

Decided to check this spot with HRC as well. Just put some range to his limp play and then placed his shoving range as before mentoned 44-TT, AQ, AJ:

So personally I would still be calling this and make note what he shows. AQs would be mandatory call anyway.

Hi all,

I think we can call AQs but not AQo actually. You will find that he has a ton of medium pocketpairs (weighting wise) and a lot less AJ combinations. Given that our pot odds are pretty bad, the fact that he has a ton of pocketpairs really hurts us.

Congrats on Black Member ghaleon!

Hello all,

ghaleon - I don't exclude AK from villains range and I don't put him that often on AJo or weaker. I agree with the pockets. He can have even any pair there. I basicly put him on strong aces and many pockets range that is ahead of us. That's why I prefer the fold there.
