PokerStars - $1.32+$0.18|200/400 Ante 25 NL - Holdem - 3 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (SB): 1,610
BB: 5,357 (VPIP: 62.64, PFR: 40.96, 3Bet Preflop: 4.55, Hands: 96)
BTN: 6,533 (VPIP: 28.16, PFR: 22.89, 3Bet Preflop: 3.51, Hands: 175)

3 players post ante of 25, Hero posts SB 200, BB posts BB 400

Pre Flop: (pot: 675) Hero has J♠ T♠

BTN raises to 6,508 and is all-in, fold, fold

BTN wins 1,075

This situation came up and I was looking to see if folding JTs was correct (it was ). When I checked it on HRC, I looked at BB's call range as well and was kind of surprised.

PU CA Range
BU 40.3%, 22+ Ax+ K2s+ K7o+ Q5s+ Q9o+ J7s+ J9o+ T7s+ T9o 97s+ 86s+ 76s
SB 6.6%, 99+ ATs+ AJo+
BB 33.6%, 22+ Ax+ K3s+ K7o+ Q8s+ QTo+ J9s+ JTo T9s

I'm just curious as to why the range is so wide for BB to call here. The SB will likely be eliminated shortly so calling your stack off with J9s or K7o seems kind of strange in this spot. Only reasoning I can think of is that since the push range for BTN is wide and if BB calls and wins, he takes over a monster stack with a very good chance at 1st place. But then again HRC doesn't show -$EV calls so there must be a different explanation. Anyone that can explain this spot? Thank you!

Seems like you have done some mistake in using HRC. BB can never call that wide. Also your calling range is way tighter than it should be.

Actual nash ranges:

BU shove: 47.7%, 22+ Ax+ K2s+ K6o+ Q3s+ Q9o+ J4s+ J8o+ T6s+ T8o+ 96s+ 98o 85s+ 75s+ 64s+ 54s

SB call: 27.7%, 33+ A2s+ A3o+ K7s+ K9o+ Q9s+ QTo+ J9s+

BB call: 7.1%, 88+ ATs+ AJo+

But I would say BU range is always capped here. He is likely not shoving hands like TT+ or AQ+. But as default I would not assume BU to be shoving bottom of nash either.
