Yes good call. 88 is going to be mandatory call versus loose player. Versus someone passive it could be fold.

Here is compact image of couple pocket pair hands versus villain shoving range. So x-axis has villain shoving range and y-axis profitability of call (as percent of price pool).

So if villain is shoving more than 25% 88 is going to be clearly profitable. Lowest pocket I would think of calling in my own games versus some of looser regs would be 55. Basically because when villain shoves in this spot with his stack his shoving range is almost always capped. Meaning he is likely not shoving hands like QQ+ at least.

But going wider than 77 really requires some reads.
