Hello all,

(CAUTION: My english is bad)

This is my first poker blog and here is a quick review of myself:

I started playing online poker 6 years ago and started from the microstakes (like most of the ppl anyway). I played at 5NL and 10NL for a year and i was a losing player at these stakes.
I read many many articles at 2p2 forums (especially balugawhale's and pokey's articles) and this helped me to start winning these limits. I rly don't remember my winning rates but i think it was around 5bb/100 (micros were extremely soft back then).

When my BR hit 500$ i moved up to 25NL and after some ups and downs, i continued winning.
Then i moved up to 50NL (pretty standard till this point). At 50NL i was winning, then a downsing, then tilt, then going broke, deposit, win, downsing, tilt, broke, deposit, win, tilt... (you get the point :P). After several of these i quitted and thought "i have tilt issues, i will never be good at this game".

4 years ago i deposited 700$ (i was at army and i was bored :)) and started playing again starting from 25NL. I started watching videos at cardrunners, especially jjballer vids. I ran hot... really hot. I ended up playing at 200NL and my BR hit 9500$ in 4 months. I was so happy... so so happy. I thought "i am the king of the world"...

This is where the bad part is... I had a downsing (10BI). I had another downsing some days later (12BI). I had a third downsing some days later (12BI) and... with a BR of 5000$ i joined 1000NL!!!!. I lost 2.5BI in half an hour. I lost half my BR (which i played 5 months in order to build it) in half an hour. I thought "OMG. I am an idiot. I have serious issues. I lost a 2 month salary in half an hour. WTF AM I DOING??". I withdrawed my BR(2500$) and quitted poker for 3 years.

3 months ago i decided to try one more time. I deposited 50$ and started playing. MY BR now is 400$, after 3 months. During these months i joined DC and watched many vids, trying to catch up cause my knowledge of the game was extremely outdated (i played 3b or fold from the BB...). I also discuss many hands with a friend of mine (asimos, he has a blog here too).

As you realized by reading the above lines i have tilt issues, serious tilt issues. I start this blog because i think that, sharing my game with other ppl will help me to overcome tilt and get serious about the game.

I will share my daily graphs and some interesting hands. I will not be able to post every day but i will try to keep the blog updated.

I currently play at 10NL zoom and plan to take a shot(3-4BI) to 25NL asap.

GOALS:

  1. Play solid poker at 10NL and 25NL
  2. Play 10k-20k hands per week
  3. Mark specific hands and discuss them here
  4. Study for at least 1 hour before every session
  5. Reach 1000$ BR and take a shot to 50NL
  6. Win at 200NL (long term)
  7. MANAGE MY TILT ISSUES

Hey Seejo!

Nice start to the blog and your English is fine :)

Yeah, tilt can be a huge problem. Have you read The Mental Game of Poker (1&2)? Those could seriously help your mental game and help get rid of those tilt issues.

Good luck and I'll be following! :)

Regards,
Tino

I played 2k hands today and the results were pretty good.
I play very aggressively and i think that i over aggro in some situations.
I will post some hands later regarding this issue.

Hello again,

I took a shot at 25NL today. I played 1000 hands and it went pretty good.

I have 2 hands that i want to discuss.

1st hand (x/r flop without equity):

Villain is 17/11 with 100% cbet in a small sample (3/3 150 hands).

My thinking process is:

1) There is no other way to win the hand than raise.
2) Villain seems to cbet light (small sample :/).
3) The board is pretty connected and i think that a J+ would bet bigger.

Hero (BB): $25 (100 bb)
UTG: $24 (96 bb)
MP: $26.49 (106 bb)
CO: $39.70 (158.8 bb)
BTN: $25.15 (100.6 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 5 5
2 folds, CO raises to $0.75, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.50

Flop: ($1.60) 7 J T (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $1, Hero raises to $2.94, CO folds

Results:

Spoiler

$3.60 pot ($0.16 rake)
Final Board: 7 J T
Hero mucked 5 5 and won $3.44 ($1.69 net)
CO mucked and lost (-$1.75 net)

Is this a good raise or a fold is a better option?

2nd hand (r flop 3bet pot with 2nd pair, wet board):

Villain is 20/14 with 8.3% 3bet and 71% cbet oop in a 400 hands sample.

My thinking process is:

1) The board is really wet and i think that his value hands bet bigger.
2) If he 3bets i instantly fold.
3) I often have the best hand but the board is wet and he can bluff me out of the pot on many many turns with a 2nd barell.
4) Neither calling or folding seems good to me.

SB: $45.78 (183.1 bb)
BB: $26.45 (105.8 bb)
UTG: $33.19 (132.8 bb)
MP: $13.08 (52.3 bb)
Hero (CO): $28.57 (114.3 bb)
BTN: $25 (100 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with A 8
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.62, BTN folds, SB raises to $2.11, BB folds, Hero calls $1.49

Flop: ($4.47) 5 8 T (2 players)
SB bets $2.13, Hero raises to $6.82, SB folds

Results:

Spoiler

$8.73 pot ($0.39 rake)
Final Board: 5 8 T
SB mucked and lost (-$4.24 net)
Hero mucked A 8 and won $8.34 ($4.10 net)

I think my sizing is a little bit bigger than needed. Maybe 5.5-6$ would be better.

I fold for the following reasons:
1) villain is tight
2) if we get called we have just 2 outs to improve. So I can't see why raise 55 in this
spot and not 62o. If it was to bluff I would prefer a hand with some back doors + outs vs his calling range.
3) On this board there are a lot of gutshots/ draws etc which villain is not folding ip.

vs this sizing raise and keep a note I think is decent. + as you said our hand is kind of weak to call.

Yeah... the 1st hand was bad. 80% of his range does not fold IP. That was a bad play.
Every time i learn new things i overtest them. That was played bad for sure, you are totally right.

Thx for the reply.

I have one hand that i want to discuss with you :)

Hand (Multiway, hit 2 pair OTT raise and got called, x/f river after villain bet pot)

Poker Stars, $0.10/$0.25 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $53.89 (215.6 bb)
Hero (BB): $25 (100 bb)
UTG: $25.25 (101 bb)
MP: $10.80 (43.2 bb)
CO: $20.35 (81.4 bb)
BTN: $74.24 (297 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8 6
3 folds, BTN raises to $0.50, SB calls $0.40, Hero calls $0.25

Flop: ($1.50) 6 K 2 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, BTN checks

Turn: ($1.50) 8 (3 players)
SB bets $1, Hero raises to $2.74, BTN calls $2.74, SB folds

River: ($7.98) 3 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $7, Hero folds

Results:

Spoiler

$7.98 pot ($0.36 rake)
Final Board: 6 K 2 8 3
Hero mucked 8 6 and lost (-$3.24 net)
BTN mucked and won $7.62 ($4.38 net)

The right line was to block bet river (1/2 pot) and fold to a raise or x/c a normal bet??

I bet / fold.

If I check i do it with the intention to check/call.
Even vs this size I would still check-call.

Yeah... b/f is the right line here something like 4-5$ and fold to any raise except a minraise.
I have to be more careful the next time :)

Thx

Hello again :)

I played 3.5k hands at 25NL today and it went really good once again.

I hope that this is not just variance and that my game is getting better and better.

The main thing i changed in my game is spewing. I try not to spew... NEVER.
Really this is the only thing changed. I hope that i will continue with this mindset
