Hey, I don't usually post in the Omaha forums as I mostly play holdem, but my local casino sometimes runs a good Omaha game where the opposition is usually soft, and I have been dabbling a little bit with the new (to me) game, and I could use a little help.
I haven't studied a whole lot on Omaha, (but I constantly work on my Holdem game). I have read Jeff Hwangs book Pot-Limit Omaha Poker, but I can't say much for the strategy it offers - he seems to recommend just waiting for the nuts, which admittedly, does work in the game I play in.
This hand came up at the very end of a session tonight - in fact it was the very last hand of the session. I'm just wondering if my reraise on the flop is OK. I think it's pretty standard, but like I said I'm not much of an Omaha player.
So the set up is;

8 players
Stacks vary from €200 - €1,000
Hero is UTG2 with a stack of €800 in a straddled pot (so we're UTG for all intents and purposes).
Hero is dealt AcKcKsJs and raises to €15.
HJ (€350)CO (€200), BU (€700), SB (€640) and BB (€600) call.
(Pot; €95)
Flop QdTh7c
SB bets €70.
BB calls €70.
Hero reraises to pot €400.
HJ folds.
CO calls all in €185.
SB 3bets all in for €640.
BB folds.
Hero calls €240.
So my question is; is the reraise on the flop standard, or terrible?
I have some but not a lot of info on my opponents.
The main villain, SB, is a decent TAG player, and I immediately assumed that he had a set of tens for value, or a similar draw for pretty much the same fucking thing as value (am I right in assuming that I am dominating most other draws?).
The BB is also a decent player, but is looser and far more creative than the SB. He might be calling with 2pair, a smaller set, or a small draw hoping to get HU with position. He is by far the most aggro player and would prob raise top set and wraps.
The players behind me are mostly fish, and the CO (the guy who cold called my raise) is a career donkey. I had mixed feelings about his call though, as it looks like a draw.
I was a little conflicted making the initial decision to raise the flop and I felt that calling might be the best play if the stacks are deeper. But with the pot at €250 (1/3 my stack) on the flop, and my having around 35% equity vs most hands, re-potting and trying to take the pot down was worth the risk.
Do you agree? If not, then how do you more experienced players handle these spots?
