[Closed] Correct to Fold AA preflop?

I assume it was a low buyin tournament. I think it is imposible to fold AA preflop, and even on flop. In my opinion, you did the right thing, just got unlucky. Just as i got sucked out with AK against A4, with 4 on river, that poker, and shit happens, sadly it was final table, with 3 players left
And maybe someone can will correct me, but if you play in MTT, you should aim for the win, nut just - in the money, or something like that.

Since the prize structure is usually skewed towards the top3 I would never fold AA here unless it was a satellite (where 1-2 more people need to bust).

Just play to win - and see this as an excellent opportunity to get the stack needed to take it home

Thanx....that's what I figured, and yes your assumptions were correct, low buy-in, large increase in $$ for last three places.

if you prefer to take for instance 5 times 200$ to 1 time 2000$ and 4 times 50$, then you may fold AA pre-flop.
It's really pity when you play well and end up winning a small portion of the prize pool - but if you don't take risks, you will never reach the first places where the real piece of the pie is.
I have spent much money on MTT without having a big success but I feel that I play the right way, taking risks in the end phase - and sooner or later I will be rewarded. I hope so at least

MP1 and MP2's stacks have no bearing on your decision here as you would have called an all-in from both of them anyway if UTG was not in the hand. If UTG wins, as was the case, you still end up beating MP1 and MP2. If you fold, perhaps MP1 or MP2 doubles through and now you lose a position and money in the end. As finchy said earlier, you need to take risks to win tournaments. If you win this hand, you are a good bet to take it home.

I really don't think you can ever fold aces unless you are a short stack at a satellite where say 2 or 3 seats get entries and there are all-ins in front of you that would get you one of those entries barring a bust-out of one of the other players. AA cannot be folded pre-flop in MTT.

in mtt sometimes you have to take the marginal situation in order to get a stack, this is not one of them you have AA and if you win you almost quadruple up and bust 2 people.

too bad the idiot won , but that hand could/should/will win you tourneys.

Even then they are still ahead, it just means there is now way you can hit a set and one or more of your villains has 2 outs.

If you are close to the money(like bubble) against multiple opponents, I would definitely fold. They wont hold up against 3+ ppl IMO.
If you are aiming to win 1st or if money is far away I would call.

@ the brood obv. it's a call whenever... getting this good pot odds and getting 60/40 against random cards is a wonderful thing...

@Dragar AA vs 5 opponents is slightly a underdog if i remember right...
