Yooo,
how's everyone doing? For Christmas i was gonna ask Santa to whack out a poker case for the ol' home game, and i found a site to order it from, which seems nice enough, a. it's cheap and b. cos u can choose the chips u want to go into the thing. Which is sweet, but i got no idea what combination would be best.
Available denominations are
1
5
10
25
50
100
500
1000
5000
10000

and i got 400 chips at my disposal. I reckon 1's, 5's and 10's are pretty useless, so are 5000's (maybe) and 10000's (definetly).
What sort of cases do you guys have or what combinations have worked for you?
Thanks, appreciated

I'd say The most important are 50's and 100's.
Also you should have enough small ones, i prefer 5's to 10's.

At my home game we play with starting stack of 2000 or 3000, with blinds starting at 10/20.

The way I would fill the case is

100 x 5
50 x 25
100 x 50
100 x 100
50 x 500

If you wanna play with bigger blinds at start for example 25/50 with starting stack of 5000 you should have in mind that you need enough chips for start (at least 100 25's and 50 50's, plenty of 100's and 500's and few 1000's)

Well, If 1,5 & 10s are useless or not, depends on wether you only plan on playing tournaments or use them to play cashgames as well.

Perhaps something like this would work if youre only planning on playing tournaments:

100 * 25
100 * 50
100 * 100
60 * 500
30 * 1000
10 * 5000 (To be able to be more players if you want to).
