i see you put yourself in this situation a lot. when the board gets bad and you have a pretty strong hand (but not nuts) you just check and try play a guessing game. put the pressure on him and bet. by betting you force him into the guessing game. you can block-bet 120 and get him to call down with 1 pairs. your plan is to bet/fold because he won't raise without 7x.
good advice for you sir, if you are not sure what to do between bet/fold or check/call the better answer is almost always to BET because you create fold-equity/semi-bluff equity. You should only take a c/c line when you have a good read on his bluff range and freq. and know exactly why you are c/calling instead of betting.
