Preflop: how much has this guy 3-bet over 1.3k hands? I don't see that info... the call has to be based on reads or stats given the player.

Postflop: postflop is ok and on the river you have the option of calling to get more info about him and because your raise isn't big I'm not convinced he folds a lot of better hands.

3bet 4.9%, BB 3bet 6.5% The call maybe a bit on the loose side but i'm also wary that i'm not defending enough vs bb 3bets in the BU.

you have to be very careful, our call 3bet range should depend a lot on villain's frequencies AND on bet sizing. Also, in 1.3k hands you could take a look at a stack called "3bet vs BU", or even better "3bet BB vs BU". That should give a more clear idea of villain's frequencies.

In this case you get 3bet to 10bbs after you open for 2bbs, I think KJo is too weak to call here unless villain 3bets like 16% in this spot (if villain 3bets to 8bbs a 12% 3bet should be enough for us to call).

He did 3bet 77 from the SB against a 2.6x BU open but the rest of the hands of his from this sample look pretty standard i.e 3bet QQ and AQs blinds vs button

In theory it seems like i'm not going to be defending that wide from the BU afterall. What is the relationship with the sizings and his 3bet range (i've probably seen the equation before but it escapes me at the moment). Like how do these two factors correspond with our defending range.

Good question. I don't hava formula to determine that. I just came up with solid ranges against potsize 3bets, and then I deviate a bit according to sizing, like take out the borderline calling hands when size is bigger, include some more hands when sizing is smaller. Like, I'd call KJo against a 8bb 3bet from 12%. Against 10bbs, we fold (or 4bet bluff) KJo/ATo.
