NL100z straight river decision

Turn I think calling with 89s is best, I don't think we can't shove anything less than AK/K9 here for value when villain has 16 combos of K9 himself. And I find his range strange, not really a board he should be raising when we have AK and he doesn't.

River it makes sense to lead some hands since river helps our range more I think (we play like this all QJ/QQ/JJ/TT, he doesn't). But 98s is just too strong to turn into a bluff IMO. We shoud value jam some boats and some missed heart draws to go with that, and that should be enough.

And I find his range strange, not really a board he should be raising when we have AK and he doesn't.

Imo his raise is good. It is not a problem if villian has 16 better combos, if the board is draw heavy, and villian will defend many worse pairs, 2 pairs, sets, also so many draws. calling and letting villian freeroll his draws is imo hardly max EV in this spot.

If SB is betting a lot of medium hands yes, raising could be best. But still, BB cannot raise QJ here. 89 if we are optimistic, so not a lot of raises.

Imo it is enough if SB bets only 2pair+, and draws, to raise K9. BB in that case can check back river, if there is not enough value. QJ would be very thin, but imo also EV of raise should be higher than call, because of protection from so many draws, also the plan with that hand would be to check most of rivers (except J, Q). It could be just min raise, doesnt have to be huge.

I think raising flop or turn w K9 is pretty standard.

Agree that u cant 3b the turn w 89 cos villain has 12 k9 combos. Not only that but because he simply cannot raise 2p. If u are shorter than obv he will raise some 1p and 2p which would make 89 an easy jam here but thats clearly not the case.
