Snap call. You rivered backdoor 2nd nuts. There's no way he thinks you have that so he could be doing this with hands beside AQ here; at least he does that the 33% of the time we need him to.

As for the flop i like a raise vs a nit, and also raising turn seems like a good option vs an AA heavy range. But calling is obviously default here, as you can fire basically every river if he checks if you don't improve and he has a really tough time calling.

I also think it is a snapcall, I would say he has perhaps the nutstraight and just goes bet bet bet as long as board doesnt pair and on turn he still had the nuts and on river there is no pair, no flush and why would you put so many AQ combos in his hand considering his betting behavior on flop and turn, that means pot pot with air on 2 streets? Even AKQJ doesnt even have a gutshot on the flop. Also if you think about it your backdoor straight is already pretty unlikely and that means you binked gold on river imo, fearing a higher runner runner straight is really too nitty imo and I that is coming from a nit! : )

If his 3-bet range is AAxx heavy then he will understand he can apply pressure with blockers to the nuts. I think if you are willing to call and not raise turn then a call on a scare card on the river is a necesity (close to). Against a more aggro, loose player I would likely raise turn. Against such a tight player here I like the call on a rainbow board. Call and well played.

His flop continuing range is more AAxx than run downs I think; if the flop was JTx rainbow I would consider a fold more.
