Preflop: Hero is SB with A 2
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.60, BB raises to $2, Hero raises to $4.50, BB calls $2.50

Flop: ($9) J T 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $4.30, BB raises to $17.84 and is all-in, Hero folds

BB- 20/14 over 577 hands, AF 3.3 bb resteal vs sb steal 40%

I think the cbet is pretty spewy. I was thinking that maybe we can fold out some pps. But at any rate this kind of highlights how much trouble I run into in bvb situations. I have absolutely no idea what guys are 3betting bb vs sb and furthermore what hands I should be defending vs 3bets

Hi legand,

definitely not a big fan of your cbet. That board hits his 4-bet calling range in these spots quite well.

Have you tried putting him on a range or think of how that board interacts with his range?

Yeah I have tried putting him on a range but I'm not really confident that the range is accurate. Like I think he can 3bet/call 22-66 as well as some strong Ax broadways like AT/AJ which aren't folding flop here ofc. I'm not so sure about like Ax and Kx blocker hands if he calls 4bets w/ them or SCs which he might call w/ whiich do hit this board quite well.

You have to base it off what you've seen other guys do in these spots.

And one thing you'll see is that most people actually call TT+ that they 3-bet with along with broadways and not as much junk (although there are exceptions).
