Won't multi quote Gary as I'm on my phone and awful with technology ♦ so please bare with:
Firstly, this one I can definitely have a good informed opinion:
"Nonsense. Each customer/member should be treated the same. Why should I have to wait 2-3 days up to a week in some cases for a hand evaluation and Joe Cash game gets 20 hands evaluated in the same time"
When I took over some stuff at PokerStrategy the goals for hand evaluations were always:
1 day response - amazing
2 day response - good
3 day response - satisfactory
4 day response - poor
I began to assemble different teams and bring in new people, this was at the time Veriz fortunately left. The MTT boards like you said would "sometimes" take upto 2-3 days which passed the Q&A that we had set. The cash game hands were actually at a 1 hour response time! 1 hour! We were amazed and it was a really amazing thing that we could proudly boast about. Your grievance with your hand histories being evaluated by high stakes guys for free (I know you rake) but taking 2-3 days was actually bang on the standard we expected to be met, you shouldn't try to think you were hard done by simply because the cash games boards were so so so successful.
"Don't know about other affiliates so cannot comment. I do know that status' cost the same amount of money now even though people are getting less value with all the "changes" that have been made over the past 18 months."
Great point. I agree that the of statuses goes down when one of the key products is taken away. I'm a newcastle fan and I know how painful it is when we have to pay the same money to watch games even though our manager sells all our best players, even if he's good at business!!
"I think over adjustment has been made at the expense of loyal members"
Your opinion. But remember that PokerStrategy are still trying to help members. If they were really going to just try and milk everybody who had PokerStars accounts and cut back on everything and not think about their members who have been active on this forum for years why would they spend 6 months making this brand new forum that they try to optimise to make it easy for members as possible. I agree PokerStrategy isn't as great as it was 1, 2, 3 or 4 years ago but nor is twoplustwo or other forums. Mobile browsing has killed Internet forums because it's a lot more convenient to just browse rather than post and it's easier to just scroll through everything. The big goal now must be for websites to try and still attract people to post and keep communities alive. From what I've seen "weekly round up of the forum" incentives for posting on the forum and a brand new forum that is pretty cool shows that they do notice and they do care. They've also brought in old school forum members such as Tim as coaches and I think now more than ever the coaches are a lot more active on the forum.
"Agree, but I think that ship has sailed now. The community now is not a patch on what it was and I believe that has got to do with the negative effect the changeover of management has had more so than the decline in poker as a whole. "
Hopefully addressed this above.
I think the main thing with you Gary is that 99.9% of the members will still remember what a great job you did. And many of them lerhals even myself will accept and support that you may not have been treated great in the last and because of that I think they don't want to tell you to sometimes stfu or stop complaining. You are knowledgable and understanding in lots of areas but I'm sure you'll accept too that you pick on every small thing that happens and you make everything very anti PokerStrategy. Not only does it give a nasty vibe and atmosphere around the forum but you come across really poorly too and perhaps most importantly to you your really good opinions and ideas which you definitely do have will go unheard because people will be thinking "oh here's gary again going off on one"
I see people trolling all the time everywhere it's the Internet. I don't have anything against you on a personal level but it's just really sad to see you becoming such an angry and bitter guy. Sure you may be justified, I don't know but I really think it's time to rise above it now.
As a sign of me trying to show that I'm not just taking pokerstrategys side on everything I'll finish this by fully agreeing and supporting the argument that why should the prices stay the same when an integral part of the service has been taken out. Hopefully you can see from this that I did read all of your posts and consider everything you said. So I guess it's not a good time for the staff to come in and explain why they think the prices should stay the same etc.
Time for bed!
