[Closed] $1.20 JJ first hand of the SNG to a raise, overpair on flop

ah this is such a sucky spot... you have no good options here

- fold on flop and be the biggest nit ever to walk the surface of this planet
- call on flop and expose yourself to overcards
- push on flop and get called by QQ+

I think the correct move here is folding. You do not want to risk your stack in this stage of the sng. This is an incredibly hard fold though ♦

Pushing isn't bad either, I prefer folding because it is a pretty marginal situation.

ok first of all: i never played the 1$ sngs but i clearly wouldn´t be able to fold this... i would rather get it in preflop (which i think isn´t even a mistake against an average player at these stakes) than folding it on THAT flop.
i go broke here. he raised from MP so he could easily have a lot of worse pairs or just overcards.

his flop call is horrible. take a note and don´t get pissed because of those suckouts

On further investigation, it think I would usually fold this, since by pushing I'll be called only by QQ+ if the player is sensible enough. However, it just felt right to push this flop, taken into account that it was the very first hand and a micro limit. JJ is one of the hardest hands to play, I never know if it's good enough to call a raise or even reraise against certain opponents and how well it does as an overpair on a flop like this.

btw: the assumption that you will only get called by QQ is just wrong (as you can see ♦)
i can see people stacking off here with like any pair

I can see him going broke on A3s 44+ so yeah And on this limit and yeah the fishes on 22's enjoy going broke with over cards from time to time

but when you shove here and he flips over AA it just sucks lol

Hi all,

Pushing on the flop turns your hand into a bluff. You are telling your opponents "I have a 9, fold please".

Just flatcall the flop, and this way we get value against a way wider range of hands. Besides, we can't be too scared of many cards in the deck (3 is bad, A is bad, that's about it).

Reraising and going broke preflop is also OK, but I think i'ts pretty high variance spot to take this line.
