I just want to know is this call terrible?
I know on the river a raise always means the nuts but my thoughts behind the call was that he is UTG and flatting a 3bet.By the time the 2nd jack landed on the river i felt pretty confident that he did not have AJ since i had two aces and theres two jacks on the board.

So i thought he was maybe doing this for value with KK as he is really aggressive.Maybe my thoughts about this is just really bad.

I actually don't mind the call here, even though I usually think minraises are the nuts its very hard for him to have a boat here as the hand plays out.

TT/JJ are definitely in his calling range pre, however I expect he raises flop with them. We are deep and he will want to get the money in + board is fairly drawy.

He shouldn't really have 76s in his range and even if he did he would probably raise turn.

AJ is possible, but you block it quite a lot w AA. Some bad regs do defend KJs though even from UTG OOP on ipoker.

Depending on how he plays TT/JJ on flop he will have 3-7 value combinations (TT/JJ/AJs/KJs) and we need 17%, so 4 combos value and only 1 bluff combo is enough for us to call.

Given that you say he's super aggro, I think its ok to call. Probably not hugely profitable, but it might not be so bad a call.

It really depends how you view him. If you think he is capable of bluffing here or value betting worse, even a small % of the time, its a call due to the great pot odds. however vs a guy who is bluffy, I prefer x/c river.

Hi kingreigns,
I would cbet flop, chk/c turn and chk/f river for similar reasons the mighty mbml gives in this example Highlight Thread hand. Check it out and see if you agree!

Regards,

Mal.

Just read mbml's post there. Now i know i mad a total balls of this hand.Just curious, what would you think of check-raising the flop here?and maybe betting half pot on the turn then or is that just letting the pot get too out of control?

"aggro monkey" doesn't sound like a good player, so he definitely has way more Jx and 6x in his range than usual.
i also don't think this hand is similar to the mbml hand at all, imo it's a clear cbet flop cbet turn and x/c this particular river, which achieves both pot control and bluffcatching against the tons of missed draws out there.

@kingreins, I didn't think of x/r flop, but vs aggro monkey I actually really like it. Its reasonable imo to expect him to stab flop a lot wider than he will call it, and I think we can reasonably expect him to bet and jam over our raise with a lot of worse hands eg. KQ, flush draws, AJ.

+1, imo only flop texture the same.

Turn card in mbml hand is an absolute disaster BB vs BU, but also have nut redraw so too much equity to x/f.

I don't think there are very many rivers on which AA of this hand should be a x/f, I can't think of any where x/f is preferable to x/c or b/f.

raise/call
call
call
minraise
...doesn't look super aggro or bluffy to me, I wish it was like that. :f_grin:

I still think your hand is trash on the river.

And yes, of course I'm a fish, but I wouldn't be calling in this particular instance. :f_thumbsup:
