I haven't played stars for 6 months or so, re-downloaded the software "uk" version and it said I have a "com" account so updated and i keep getting an error, when i download from stars it automatically gives me the uk version how do i find a direct link to the com version of the client as I'm stuck at the moment with a -3/0 error

Hey iFortunatus,
Since UK regulation late last year, you are no longer able to play at the .com site. You must play through .co.uk however you still have full access to the .com player pool.

It looks like your PokerStars account isn’t suitable yet for the UK client.
The only way to make it suitable is to mail PokerStars support ( support@pokerstars.co.uk ) about your situation and they will fix it for you.
