SB: $4 (100 bb)
BB: $4.06 (101.5 bb)
MP1: $4.80 (120 bb)
MP2: $7.56 (189 bb)
MP3: $2 (50 bb)
CO: $6.15 (153.8 bb)
Hero (BTN): $5.79 (144.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with Q A
MP1 calls $0.04, 3 folds, Hero raises to $0.16, 2 folds, MP1 calls $0.12

Flop: ($0.38) 2 7 8 (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $0.22, MP1 calls $0.22

Turn: ($0.82) 8 (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $0.61, MP1 calls $0.61

River: ($2.04) 3 (2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets $1.73, MP1 raises to $3.81 and is all-in, Hero folds

Results: $5.50 pot ($0.32 rake)
Final Board: 2 7 8 8 3
MP1 mucked and won $5.18 ($2.46 net)
Hero mucked Q A and lost (-$2.72 net)

The villain is 38/5 from 99 hands, AF%: 22.7 (21/25 and 24 on the streets).

The strategy is simple: bet/bet/bet. Until I see that he c/r on the river, a strong move by such a loose-passive player.

Just to be sure: if I were to call there, I will see a full house or quads, right?

Flop Cbet should be stronger.
River should be a call.Besides FH and quads, you will also see a lot of weaker flushes which he could play like that. You need 21% EQ too be profitable. Lets say 25% considering the rake. You have at least 50% if he do it only with K♣ flushes. If he do it with weaker flushes you have much more equity.

I agree. I bet that low because I am crushing the board, he cannot have much and maybe I'll get one extra call from a weak pair or something.

About the river, I understand what you mean, but I am not sure if he'd do it with lower flushes on a paired board. We'll never know, but most of the time I did this, I ran into FH and quads..

I understand that dilemma. If you know the opponent that well, you could bet pot size on turn, and check back river. The opponent would lose the value by checking the river if he has a boat or better. However, even he has the king high flush, you would end up with a rather big pot.

I sometimes push on this type of turn, and they would often call with a high pocket pair, a set or flush.

Either check back river or bet/fold $1.20, not much worse to pay you off, despite lower flushes which are heavily blocked and are also afraid of the texture. On Nl25 and higher this is always a check back but you may extract some value vs the nl4 guys.

Since he is a fish, it doesn`t matter if the board is paired or not.The only thing he see is the flush.

That was the nasty one. Yeah, I would also bet the flop bigger and bet the turn. Then would probably bet the river something like half a pot because I still expect calls from some worse hands. If he raises then, I think it would be close, but I guess calling wouldn't be wrong.

Vs a 38/5guy you bet fold river.
