Pre-flop I would fold, because J7o played not to great OOP in a multi way pot.

As played I would call the flop as well with trips.

The turn is interesting. It makes not to much sense for him to bet that big with better hands and if you shove he will fold most of the time I think. I would call and stack off on a blank river card if he bets again.

No need to defend your blind with J7o this early in the tournament. Either fold or if you are really on one of those days you are inclined for the spewy option, 3 bet villain. You can only get in trouble with that cold call. If you "hit" you'll be up against better Jx and in the 7 case, his steal range will probably be A7 or K7s.

Regardless, the main problem here is that calling an mp raiser in a multiway pot with J7o I don't think is called "defending your blind" in anyones book. This call really makes no sense. After getting in trouble innecessarily :f_grin:, his pot bet on the turn suggests he has a set or overpair or picked up a draw or is plain bluffing. I'd lean towards calling on the turn and hope he doesn't pot the river again in an attempt to control the pot a bit. I don't think he's calling enough with worse often enough to warrant reraising or shipping his turn bet. No need to lose your whole stack this early in the tourney. Again as in many of the other hands you posted it's too early in the tourney to have any type of read on villain. I'd avoid trouble early on. Don't take this as criticism, but I don't think these early tourney hands have much value of analysis, unless of course you've identified these as the weakness in your tourney play, and given you called with J7o in a multiway pot out of position, it does seem like it's a weakness to work on.

Thank you for the answers. I don't take anything as criticism. I posted this hands because i have doubts about them and i would like to here another opinion which can help my play. To get deeper in tournament we should play good in the early stage i guess

I agree with that J7o in this situation is fold PF. So i want to ask what defending range do you suggest in this spot ?

Against unknown players like these 2 as well I would defend with suited connectors, broadways and small pocket pairs (example 22-99) that I play for set value. The stronger hands I would 3 bet here like AK and TT+ for example.

From my point of view there is no reason to be defending your blinds in a $2 tourney at the 10/20 or 15/30 blinds level, unless you have a clearly loose bully in CO or BU stealing your blinds every time around, which you think you can stack with a well played resteal that hits. The level of play isn't high enough that people will notice if you're tight in these tourneys. Sit tight and start playing serious ball when blinds increase and you have 30 or less BB. Playing too many marginal hands in early tournament play will just get you in trouble against fish calling with any two.

Of course in $10 tourneys and above, things change, there you'll be facing multiple regs against which you need to show a coherent table image and line of play, and who will start bullying you if they see you're not defending your blinds, so in that buyin level you definitely need to defend blinds from early on.
