Hello guys,

Here I saw the player who limped calling a 15bb all-in earlier with a 20bb stack with A2s so he seemed kind of looser type to me, so i decided to iso-raise him. On the flop I hoped one of them or both of them had an ace, so I bet for value. On the turn again for value and protection. Do you think I played it right? Was there a better line to take?

It’s also good to know if the re-buy phase is already ended. In the re-buy period people play a more crazy style than after that. Without this info I raise normal a little bit bigger with a limper in the pot. I make it 3x here most of the time.

As played I would bet max 2/3 pot on flop and turn so you can shipped the river.

The turn is off course a ugly card with 3 :club: on the board and I don’t think you get action of worse if you over-shove. So I would most likely check here without info he’s a calling station or so and I her-evaluate the river.

Best regards,

Thank you for the answer x) This was after the rebuy phase. On the turn i wasnt looking that much for action rather than protection if the villain has a single club card. Also if he had called preflop with a weak ace like A7 (top pair+straigh draw+flush draw if his 7 was a club) A6, A8, A5 or AT i think he would have called my shove, no?

It would be pretty bad I think to call a over shove with top pair and a weak flush draw against you’re shoving range, because he can be drawing for the 2nd best hand.

Definitely the problem with this hand was the size of your raise, you should have raised 3x or 3.5x to iso. You made it cheap for blinds to call you with draw hands or other marginal hands, in particular considering the average stack is over 40 bb. After that it was all predictably trouble, and no reason to bluff away a 50 bb stack on two pair on that board, only better can be calling you. The shove is horrible IMO, villain gave you a free check behind to control the pot on the ugly board on the turn and you failed to take it.
