0.5/1 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is BU with 4♣ , 4♠
4 folds, MP2 raises, MP3 calls, CO folds, Hero calls, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: (9.00 SB) 4♦, J♠ , 9♦ (4 players)
SB checks, MP2 bets, MP3 calls, Hero raises, SB calls, MP2 3-bets, MP3 calls, Hero caps, SB calls, MP2 calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (12.50 BB) A♠ (4 players)
SB checks, MP2 bets, MP3 folds, Hero raises, SB folds, MP2 3-bets, Hero calls.

River: (18.50 BB) 5♠ (2 players)
MP2 bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 20.50 BB

OK... given this is a marginal call PF (SB and BB both had 50-60+ VPIP and I figured one or both were likely to call), what is the correct line with bottom set here?

As played:

Flop - I'm capping for value and protection from flush/straight draws.

Turn/River - Raise is for value and protection, resorting to call down on 3-bet given possible better set v relatively tight villian.

Questions:

1. Is flop CAP ok? Given any FD/OESD is raising here for value with 35% / 31% equity respectively, we are ok to CAP with our equity (which is? - not sure how to account for FD hand in equilator...)?

I'm pretty sure I'm confusing something here... we have a made hand, are probably ahead and with 7 outs to improve to quads/full house on turn. Simple answer is bet because we're likely ahead and drawing hands are only one subsection of villians possible raising hands?

2. Is raise on turn correct given action on the flop? Should we be capping here or are we already in call down mode facing turn bet with bottom set and given action on the flop? I suspect raise/call down is correct because there are still worse PP / Ax / 2 pair / draws raising this turn, although a CAP must be close?

3. What is the correct line on river if we hit a full house, where the villian bets the river? Raise/Call? or just call given the level of aggression and strong possibilty of facing up to a better full house?

Hi Waiboy,

I like the hand as you played it. Your thoughs are fine too.

1) I never made an analyses with a set. You are nearly always ahead so the cap is good. A flushdrwa also has only 8 clean outs as the J :diamond: gives you the fullhouse.

Bet because we are very likely ahead and we have a lot outs agaist a draw if he hits on the turn wihch increases our overall equity.

2) You showed a lot strength and so does he so you have to start fearing a better set. Another raise is fine but a cap is too much.

3) A fullhouse doesn't change anything anymore. You are either still aahead or behind. As the chance of being behind is too high I would only call again.
