your PFR is very big for your VP$IP, and you defend from BB is ridiculous.
You can be a little bit more aggressive and fold more to 3bet.
I like your AFq and ATS values.

Imo on NL10-25 is better to play a little bit more tighter, something like 10-12 and get value with your big hands.

thanks i will tighten up my play, i know a few areas where i can tighten up straight away, i limp in with aq, aj and small pp's in early position, i know its a fold i just struggle to let them go

had a decent session, played around 800 hands, lost $20 to start with through bad luck and a little bad play, i raised with JJ one caller, 3 low cards came out n he conti bet, i made the mistake of pushing, he called with AA, $10 gone in one hand, but then i tightened my play up, concentrated and made around a $27 profit, which has put me about $8 down from my starting $200 but 2k hands later, and i am seeing an improvement so i know i am still just below break even, i feel that will change soon. Starting another session now

another nice session, $23 profit from that plus i got my first $10 bonus off of mansion so that has put my BR to $222.18 now. i worked on tightening up and here is the results

That is with a total of 3110 hands, played almost 2k hands today in total, really loved playing tonight, just realised its 4am lol. Will post some hands tomorrow that cost me big when i figure out how to do them with pt3 and mansion, hope this is gd reading for you all

I learned the hard way that I must strictly stick to the PS strats, sometimes I even play tighter, folding AT/AJ in MP...it can save you a lot of money.
You can lose all your session winnings in one stupid ATo hand, its just not worth it.

Sometimes opening another table helps you tighten up, because now you get good hands more frequently and less time to play them. But you must be comfortable with your previous quantity of tables before you try adding another.

Another tactic that helps me is listening to some low-volume background music, this way when you are card dead (and you will be sometimes) you can focus on the song while you wait for your nice JJ+. This music must never distract you while playing a hand so keep it low...

thanks for the post brood, i like to listen to music when i play, its normally either music on the laptop or i listen to the tv when my daughter has her programs on, usually she keeps me busy anyway but i mainly play at night now for concentration.

I play 4 tables and find it about right, i have tried 5 before but i don't knnow how to set the tables out on the screen without it being awkward so i just stick to 4. I've been concentrating on my stats for the last 2k hands and i've started to tighten up, i'e got my vp$ip down to 14.81 and my pfr is 7.04, ill post all other stats when i have more time.

I had a bad night last night as those who saw my posted hands will see, i went from a high of $238 down to $198 then got a $10 bonus from mansion so my BR is now sitting at $208. I played a few mistakes but not many, i think my play was close to A game but after a few bad hands i started to tilt so i had to come off, i lost the usual hand which i can accept like QQ and KK to AA and stuff like that but then i had 88 and hit an 8 on the flop in a 4 way pot, one of the opponents had JJ and a J came on the turn, for some reason i couldn't accept this and got really stressed, so much so that i had to lay down for a few hours because the stress set my chest off, which hasn't hurt me for months (used to have chest problems).

Anyway i was going to play today but everytime i posted blinds i poker lost connection so i just gave up and went to sleep, may play a session later but thinking of watching a couple of films and re-grouping for tomorrow instead.

It only takes one hand to make your winning session a losing one so don't play tilted and btw watching tv isnt good for resting imo. Try doing something physical instead or at least something that doesnt require you to stare at a screen. Going to sleep/napping works wonders.

If I were losing $ or tilting on bad beats I would play less hrs or tables until I can handle it.

Try and take a break and dont play again until you have put the beat completely behind you. If its still nagging at you then simply don't play. Discipline is very important here.

ive had a day off to get over it and its well behind me now, looking forward to the next session now, gonna wait until our daughters in bed i think so i can concentrate without i want this i want that and tantrum lol

I understand completely, my kids know the new rule: dont talk to dad when hes playing poker =S

i didnt last all day without playing, started about 3 but its been a gd day, about $22 up so far in 2 hours, had AA 6 times n KK 4 n QQ 2 though, hope i make the best of this

here is an update of how i am doing, i have played around 9.6k hands so far, ive unlocked $30 of my bankroll in total and my total bankroll is now $232.50, so i'm $2.50 up.

I'm not disappointed about this because over the last 2 days i found out a few leaks i have both through playing and by posting hands, something i have never done in the past but now understand. My main leaks were pocket pairs, deviating from call 20 slightly but its costly in the long run, and playing 88-JJ poorly when missed the flop and facing overpairs etc. KA is also a bit of a leak for me, mainly because of the amount of times i miss the flop and then conti bet and get re-raised and have to give up the hand after investing several $ in it. My other leak is straight/flush draws, i struggle giving them up, i give up gutshots easily but OESD and FD's ive called all-ins in the past.

I have really worked on my stats and have tightened up my game quite a lot, partly because i printed off the SHC which i thought i had memorised and realised i called hands in positions i shouldn't and also raised them when i should either call or fold.

My stats are now as follows:

after my last post i got upto $244 but true to form for the night after i win a hand i lose one and boy did i lose one, had 8,10 suited on BB and got 2 pair, 1 of my leaks being not letting go of BB hands, thought my 2 pair was good was all in in a 3 way pot and somebody had straight -$11

5 minutes later had KK in blinds, 1 limped in so i raised n all folded.
Next hand same table, KK on button, folded round to cut off who raised to .40 so i re raised then he pushed. I called he flipped AA and ovc A on the flop -$16

I am now sitting at $212

Your vp$ip is fine, it anything you have tightened up a bit much for bss

The main problem I see with your stats is that your PFR is too low, and it hasnt improved. It should always be within a few points of vpip. When you enter a hand you are only raising half the time and limping half the time, you should be raising the vast majority of the time especially if you will have position postflop.

thanks delete, that is just from following the SHC perfectly, but this is confusing me as the article say's things like raise TT+ but if i get re-raised i have to fold yet hand judges have told me to re-raise again with these. Also in one hand i had 99 in MP1 and SHC says to call 99-22 in MP and raise in LP, but the hand judge said to raise 99 in that position. Other than those i am quite comfortable with the SHC, i think the main reason my PFR is so low is the amount of PP's that i get from 99-22 and the odd suited connector i can call. Plus with TT and JJ if somebody has raised before you enter the pot it says to only use call 20, so the SHC seems a little passive for me, with what the judges say i should do and my PFR being so low. Could you advise me if i should play PP's any different? like raise 88+ for example instead of TT+ and to always re-raise JJ+ rather than QQ+ instead of call 20?

I always like to 3BET JJ. If I know the raiser is only raising with big hands (say for instance, a TAG UTG raises), or if there is already a good bit of action before me, then I just call (or fold depending on how heavy said action is, of course).

thanks ehkayforty7, i think im folding or calling high PPs way to often, it doesn't feel right, like if you're raising JJ for example and then you get re raised youre supposed to fold. After a while you're opponents notice how easily you fold to 3-bets and will very often 3-bet you with the worst hand. I have been 3-betted with 44+ and A5 3betted my Ak and so on.

Calling 3BETs with JJ is kind of dangerous (I say this yet I call them all the time lol). You just have to watch out as to who is doing the raising. Some players will only 3BET QQ+, but then again the same players will probably 3BET AK.

This is why JJ is one of the harder NL hands to play. I like it just because of how difficult it is to play actually, puts me to the test. ♦

i hate playing JJ, if i don't hit a J on the flop then i don't know how to play it, i'm ok if i have the overpair but if i bet flop with a higher card out they always either call and bet me off the pot on the river, usually with a second higher card, or they re-raise me then i kinda know im behind, or someone is being brave with a bluff against me, unless they fold pre-flop or i hit the flop i usually lose with JJ

The SHC is a beginners guide only to BSS preflop play, the article "TAG preflop play for intermediates" goes into more depth with deviations etc from SHC. Unlike SSS the BSS preflop game isnt set in stone, it is highly flexible according to the situation. With BSS, most of your important decisions get made postflop where the pot is bigger, so your postflop play is far more important to work on. The beginners SHC is basically a guide to help you while you are improving your postflop play, when your postflop play is good enough to play profitably you can study the TAG preflop article and start adjusting your preflop play aiming to put yourself into profitable situations postflop. That is why the judges often give you advice which contradicts the SHC, they are thinking along more advanced lines. My approach was to stick exactly to SHC while I worked on my postflop game, when I was confident postflop I started adjusting my preflop game.

As you can see, with BSS often there is not only one correct path to take, and unlike SSS there are no ideal statistics - some players play successfully with preflop stats of 30/5, some with 15/14.
