ok so we go to a 4 bet pot 3 way should i just be check folding when the ace hits the flop 3 way or was i right with the plan cbet flop check fold if called but in this case his bet on the turn was really small in relation to pot size i thought a hand like TT might do this

Hero (MP): $6.44
CO: $3.75
BTN: $10.52
SB: $2.00
BB: $0.25
UTG: $6.51

CO posts a big blind ($0.02)

Pre Flop: ($0.11) Hero is MP with K :club: K
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.08, CO raises to $0.14, BTN calls $0.14, 2 folds, Hero raises to $0.56, CO calls $0.42, BTN calls $0.42

Flop: ($1.77) A :spade: 7  2  (3 players)
Hero bets $1.13, CO calls $1.13, BTN folds

Turn: ($4.03) Q :diamond: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO bets $0.56, Hero calls $0.56

River: ($5.15) J :spade: (2 players)
Hero checks, CO checks

If you decide to make a cbet, make it smaller - 1/2.

4-bet pot so general opponent will think QQ+, AKo+. 1/2 pot will likey get JJ, QQ to fold and you are blocking KK here. Therefore fold to a raise, and you are only getting called by hands that are beating you are that are wanting to get to showdown. I would likely try to get to showdown after flop call.
