River is absolutely horrible card for him to bluff, but sometimes folks at low limit just don't give a **** and bluff with missed draw anyways. Or then it's A2. I would call too and make note of this hand for future use.

But he cant have sets, as no-one is scared of 43 on the turn and only check-calling with a set. You also have blockers to all of these valuehands with your A/8/5.

Your hand is far from locked down on the turn. If we assume he pots the flop with any kind of hit (gutshots and better) and calls with that same range, he has 26% ott. But if his calling range is 2pairs+, 99+, flush draws and oesd+ (PJ range: 99+,hh,67,679+), he has 28%.

When you bet half a pot, he need 25% equity to call without any implied odds.

I would say that don't use half a pot on the turn unless the board is paired. Even with completed flush you give sets the correct odds with half a pot bet (on unpaired boards).
