Hi everyone,

Can we reasonably value bet here?

PokerStars - $0.02 NL - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (MP): 108 BB
CO: 38 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 0.00, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 3)
BTN: 108.5 BB (VPIP: 33.33, PFR: 4.76, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 22)
SB: 223 BB (VPIP: 13.64, PFR: 9.09, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 22)
BB: 104 BB (VPIP: 15.29, PFR: 8.24, 3Bet Preflop: 7.41, Hands: 85)
UTG: 100.5 BB (VPIP: 13.64, PFR: 9.09, 3Bet Preflop: 0.00, Hands: 22)

SB posts SB 0.5 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.5 BB) Hero has 7♣ 7♦

fold, Hero raises to 3 BB, CO calls 3 BB, fold, fold, fold

Flop: (7.5 BB, 2 players) 3♠ 5♣ 4♦
Hero bets 5 BB, CO calls 5 BB

Turn: (17.5 BB, 2 players) 6♥

River: (29.5 BB, 2 players) 5♦

Yes. Only better hand would be 78 and we already have two sevens. I think we have almost the nuts here so we should bet for value.

Bet around 1/2 pot, maybe a bit lower. We do not have many hands but since guy looks like fish, he can pay two streets with any overcards. So, yes we should bet.

You can bet but make it small.

Why can't we bet vs a good opponent? Are we afraid of 78? Isn't it more probable that fish is calling w/ 78 pre and calling flop w/ gutshot? Wouldn't they have raised ott?

It´s not only about what beat us but also what worse calling. It can be true that fish can has more hands which beat us on the river but he also has much more hands which call with and reg not.

Villain's range on river is not only 78, right? There are a lot of worse hands that may call the small bet.

Thanks for the replies everyone!

Looks like a small bet is the way to go then.
He can definately call with A2 or 56 suited imo but I am also afraid of a possible full house here.

Oh shit yeah the board paired. Didn't see that last time. I shouldn't review any hands before going to sleep. :f_biggrin:

It is the paired board that created the discussion. :)
