I think it seems good for the rest of this year in the trial - i.e. its no lose to sign up for the beta.
The concern is probably what stars ultimate goal is, and what their 2016 plan is.
Having said that, from a personal perspective - the VIP rewards are not significant enough for it to be of major concern for me, and if this is part of a plan to move rewards away from grinders/regulars towards attracting/rewarding recreational players instead, then, selfishly, that's good news for me....
