If the betting round begins as a multi-way pot, hero bets in EP, then there is a raise and everyone else folds, should it now be treated as a heads up situation for the standard 3-bet flop with a playable hand and bet turn OOP? Or should it be played as a multi-way throughout the whole betting round, with the standard approaches of a multiway pot the entire round? I can see

I guess what I mean is, in general, is it possible to redefine a situation in the middle of a betting round?

Hi strat9,

the standard rules apply as soon as there is only one opponent wth you in the pot. You have to judge our handstrength and his hand a bit different as a raise is stronger than if it would be headups from the flop on.

1) This is a good example for that. I don't like a 3-bet here that much and just call down (or fold to straight completing cards). If you 3-bet you should fold on the turn as you aren't often enough ahead anymore.

2) I like this hand as played. Your hand is strong and you should keep the initiative.
