Is there a situation where it is better that your opponent folds compared to him calling and running it more than once....assuming you have the winning hand.

There was an argument today at the casino where a guy suggested that tou may win more right there when your opponent folds. And if he calls and you are ahead by lets say 60% it is not the best scenario.

I am a bit confused. This is assuming that your opponents is motivated to call because he knows u are likely to run it more than once.

The main reason to run it twice is to reduce variance. In big bet no-limit games, it is possible that a player's semi-bluff gets called by a player who currently has a better hand. Rather than let a large pot depend on a single turn of cards, both players may decide to reduce their risk by running it twice, which makes the odds of winning get closer to the theoreticalally "correct" odds. If you get called by worse hand it's more profitable for ya to basically run it twice, tho don't expect villain to do so eagerly.
