Poker Stars $10.00 No Limit Hold'em - 6 players

Hero (BTN): $11.35 - VPIP: 21, PFR: 17, 3B: 5, AF: 2,4, Hands: 32982
SB: $11.82 - VPIP: 31, PFR: 23, 3B: 6, AF: 1,3, Hands: 74
BB: $10.00 - VPIP: 28, PFR: 23, 3B: 11, AF: 5,2, Hands: 675
UTG: $6.70 - VPIP: 19, PFR: 19, 3B: 0, AF: 0,0, Hands: 16
MP: $3.40 - VPIP: 0, PFR: 0, 3B: 0, AF: 0,0, Hands: 2
CO: $14.56 - VPIP: 15, PFR: 11, 3B: 4, AF: 2,6, Hands: 317

Pre Flop: ($0.15) Hero is BTN with J :diamond: 8 :spade:
3 folds, Hero raises to $0.20, 1 fold, BB calls $0.10

Flop: ($0.45) 7  J :club: 4 :diamond: (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $0.27, BB raises to $1, Hero calls $0.73

Turn: ($2.45) A :spade: (2 players)
BB bets $1.80, Hero ???

Im just getting confused here, it might seem like an easy fold but then again, oponent is really agressive and might be just barreling on this ace because:
1) 5+ AF
2) 18 cold call vs steal from BB
3) 24 resteal from BB

such a wide defending range makes me think he would 3bet all aces preflop right? he is likely having a set here, but still do we just fold?

Against such an opponent, your steal seems crazy. What's his raise vs c-bet OOP? Unless it looks crazy I would fold on the flop. Even Jx is likely ahead of you. As played, fold OTT also. Even if the A hasn't improved villain's hand, it hasn't improved your hand either.

Also, his resteal range could well be polarised.

Definitely a good argument to steal a tighter range if you're going to get in awkward situations like this one. J8o is quite loose even versus an unknown; against an aggressive defender you can probably just muck it.

Anyway, as played...

This guy has a way wider range than sets if he's that aggressive. If I'm him, I could have T9s, 98s, T8s, 86s, 65s in my check-raising range (all straight draws with backdoor flush potential). Even if he only has half of those hands, that's still nearly as many as set combos. Nevermind the total air he could have because it's a reasonably dry flop.

Here versus this opponent I would be calling; it's such a standard barrel card and if he's check-raised flop with a draw then he'll definitely continue. If he has 7x or a jack even he might slow down when the ace rolls off, so I think that makes a draw more likely. I doubt he check-raises Ax/A4/A7, so AJ or a flopped set is the only thing that improves/continues in his value range. Obviously we can discount all overpairs, too.

My plan would be to hero call a reasonably-sized bet on blank rivers unless we've a read he gives up on rivers a lot.

Spoiler

DISCLAIMER: I have not slept in 33 hours and the above might be absolute garbage.

J8o should be a standard BTN steal, probably J7o, too, but if we have an aggressive opponent on the blinds, we might want to tighen up a bit, so maybe J9o would be a bottom of my openning range, or even JTo. As played, since his AF, maybe we can bluffcatch flop, turn and river if blank come out, but not sure.

As above mentioned, i would fold preflop, if villain is so aggressive. I think i woul open with JT. On the flop it is tricky, I would like to know, what his c/r % is on the flop. Does he have a donkingrange? If his doningranges is wide, he has more likely i valuehand here, and vice versa.

J8o seems too strong to fold preflop
what i would do is not cbet if he is repeatedly getting out of line postflop

Standard yes, but opponent is not standard. So if you are going to be in a difficult spot pre you better fold marginal hands even IP otehrwise you play an inflated spot with a hand with which you don't know where you stand.

Once raised, preflop I would probably 4 bet to $2.2 - $2.3 / fold but I'd much prefer doing it with a much more playable hand :).

As played pre, you get TP, that's OTF that's as good as it's going to be for you, but i would C/B , the pot is already inflated preflop, you don't want to inflate it more. his range is super polarised therefore you are way ahead way behind. I think that if opponent is aggressive, he can have a much larger range than just nuts and draw. He can also have pure air.

He 3bets pre (reps a big hand),
You call (rep not such a big hand)
Flop,Board is dry, he checks , naturally you bet , you don't have to have a big hand, by raising he will get you to fold a lot
Turn, is an ace , perfect hand to bluff and hit perfectly his range, boom bet again

So flop I would check behind a keep the pot small, and basically , call turn , call river except if I have a tell on a value bet.
As played, If I bet and he raises me, I would give up and cut my losses and fold with my marginal hand not knowing at all where I stand.

As played, turn, I fold and cut my losses as my bet is that you'll also get a river bet.

If you are playing on regular table where you can choose your seat, try sitting on the left of aggressive opponents :)

if hes soo agressive he will fire second time so often when he reraise on flop, and A is very great turn to make second barrel so i think we can fold it on turn.
And if we call turn , and he fire 3rd shot on river , we deffinetly cant call that, so keep it simple fold pre flop, or just fold turn.

Even our flop callis a bit on the heroic side. He can easily have a better Jx or better.
