Mistake to bet the turn?

I have moved you're hand to the hand discussion section, because it's fits better there.

As cash game fish I like to know if the button player always make it 4x pre-flop. It could be a tell.
I would check 77 down on every street. I don't think you can blow up a unknown of a better hand and you have showdown value as well.

The question is, why do you bet the Turn? Do you want a call or a fold? I don't think, Villain is going to fold a lot of hands there, He could have there KQ,QJ, KT,QT,JT,T9,T8. All these hands are going to call your turnbet. And as you said, he could check back Ax. I would l more c/r in this spot. Becasue he could fold out the other hands, when you c/r.

Iade this decision without any though and I notice u make it regularly without thinking. I beleive it's one of them things. Where your really good at bad habits

@zoty79 That's a good question, and the answer is the reason I posted it up, I always just automatically bet there, without any thought into it at all, but I started to think after I realised, I wasn't thinking, and tried to imagine myself in villains shoes what I would do, and checking back this dryish a lot of hands is a good thing to do, all bluffs would probably cbet here, so when he checks back there is probably more value - bluffs in his range, so betting or calling I think is bad

Agree with playing cautiously. Checking turn is good. No need to invest more with that hand.

You are not folding any better and you get called just by better hands, so no need to bet, you have some showdown value, your goal in this spot should be to reach showdown as cheaply as possible.

I don't think it was auto pilot, I was playing 1 table, I believe it to be an automatic reaction that I automatically bet here without thinking, a bad habbit

Automatic reaction is exactly playing on autopilot. Should always try to play your A game,well thought and consistent.

I prefer check-folding. But betting turn AND following up on the river isn't hopeless. You can represent anything the board allows here. The button is most likely pot controlling with a weakish hand. He could be slowplaying of course. I'd never do it without the added outs the gutshot brings. They aren't many, but make the play possible.

Betting turn is nothopelessit is a desaster. No need to bet money we are not sure we can win back.

You can always win it back the next hand:P Also note, don't bet turn, bet turn AND river if you try this. Anyone pot-controlling by checking back the flop is not doing it to fold to a bet on the turn.

I like betting this turn. We could get value from some broadways, FD, some gutshot.

Don't you think pocket pairs of some description are more likely? Checking back broadways is just giving them up (talking about button here) imo. At least I wouldn't "float" a turn bet on all boards after checking back flop with broadways. I see betting (turn + river) much more as a bluff than extracting value. (My top choice is still to check.)

i am betting the turn and proceding on the river with 77 on any card except the A with an intention to fold to a raise..how about that?

i am inclined to x some other stronger holdings ott than pocket sevens here..oop when i am x/bd otf..

What is wrong with the A? I think it is a good card.

The A lessens the Ax combos of villain.
We cannot bet turn ad we cannot bet river on T+...
