how can you say it is badly played i wanted him to think he is in control.. as it turns out he was..
but let him carry on betting i had the second nuts, i wanted him to milk me, i thought KA or KQ so he will bet strong, which he did. how can you say i played this badly? is slowplaying not allowed anymore?
i like your slowplay here on the flop- there are no draws except for AQ drawing for a straight, so slowplaying your set of jacks is close to perfect in this situation.
on the turn there are 2 possible draws you are giving a freecard to.
the club draw (not very likley) and somebody with AQ can be drawing to a straight still.
the main goal should be not to protect against the draws, but to get some value out of them before the river comes and crushes them.
see on the turn you might get a call from 2 clubs, on the river, when he sees the flush didnt come, he wont pay you anything.
still I like your slowplay here, because neither of the draws are very likely, although the AQ is somehow consistent with his betting, he reraised preflop (somehow agressive but perfect because playing AQ ooP without beeing the agressor is just bull****).
on the flop he bets at you, still this play would be made with AQ. on the turn he decides to slow down and see if he can see a free river.
but you dont have to protect against this draw. its a 4 outer, he wont get the odds he needs, and what should you bet here ???
the pot is 3.700 and he has 3.200 left. so ANY bet, like 1/2 pot will commit him to the pot. so he cant call with AQ, he shouldnt call with the flush draw so the main problem is his stacksize.
if you bet anything at all it should be an all in, because every other bet looks ecven stronger because it seemes to lure him into the pot comitting him no matter what (true you CAN bet 800 or so to suck him in, but i dont like that play, it looks like a trap here and he knows it)
so checking the turn is not that bad. but this is just true because of his stacksize!
if he would have a larger stack say 5000 you should definetly bet the turn like 1/2 the pot. but against this stack, checking the turn is not that bad because the draws are unlikley and to week to get a call out of AQ.
