hard to understand what he is doing here
I would put him on trip 5's or 6's, with him putting you on top pair
only hand he could play which beats you is 44, his flop play makes it highly unlikely
whatever he has he has probably played it badly

raise more on the flop . bet more on the turn . shove river . a 4 is a small part of his range and its more likely for him to have some 2 pair hand
