A difficult call with 2 pairs

how many players were in that hand?

Only me and the other guy. Others folded.

I mean at the table, that were dealt cards.
Like... six players? nine?

It was 9-10 seats?

I do not like limping. On flop we should not donk but x call and let villain bet with his whole range.
As played you should fold vs the flop raise.

OTT when you hit 2P you can call.

P.S. Do not bet for information. Bet for value or to make better hands fold. Or to collect dead money. Cause you got the information with your bet and did not fold...

I guess we don't want to fall into a trap of open limping hands like J9s on the UTG+1 just because we saw Daniel Negreanu doing that on TV. So, I wouldn't open limp. I don't have any experience with live games, so maybe I'm wrong with this. As played, the hand is perfect for bluffcatching the flop. I think we don't have a value bet there and nothing better will fold. As played, I would check/call the turn because we get lucky hitting two pairs, but wouldn't be too happy if he bets any river, so maybe on the river we could bet ourselves, half pot, and fold if he raises.

Oh sorry, it was a 9 of us out there in the table.

with nine people at the table, I think its a fold pre already in UTG+1.
If u play it, its a fold after the 3bet.
If u call it, its a check/call on flop.

Theres no value in betting for information, this is an old school thinking that ll not make any good to ur game.
Bet for value, protection, bluff... information ll come always. Even if villain checks when u dont bet thats information.

Cool. Thanks...so I think I shd have folded preflop since I was in early position right? I made the call on the turn and the river was check/check and the guy showed AQ. Ultimately I won, but looking at the line I think may be it was a lucky pot. Need to improve on this.

You should read some of the articles and watch the videos.
Try not to invest money in the potfor no reason. Just staying aggressivecan be a costly thing.
Try not to limp.Forget about the "get the info" bets.
And as you play live - stay focused and watch carefully.

Sure dude. Thanks for the ideas. I like what Alleen said earlier, this was purely trying to use Daniel's small ball approach in which i made a mistake of continuing a bit extra with just a J on the flop.

Nice hearing u say that.
Many guys think they played the hand perfectly just because the result of winning.

The fact is, as I believe u already noticed, u can play it perfectly and loose... or way wrong an win it. Thats what make things harder for people to develop in poker just by playing it, and never thinking in a more deep way the game.

Yeah thanks mate. Really encouraging me to learn and improve more. I will post another hand which I won by playing really well. Need your comments there too.
