Hi,

Poker Stars, $0.02/$0.05 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 5 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite.

SB: $5.12 (102.4 bb) (VPIP:31.00;PFR:25.00;TOT3BET:4.00;Hands:116)
BB: $5.52 (110.4 bb)
MP: $5.50 (110 bb)
CO: $4.97 (99.4 bb)
Hero (BTN): $5.37 (107.4 bb)

Preflop: Hero is BTN with A 8
2 folds, Hero raises to $0.12, SB raises to $0.45, BB folds, Hero calls $0.33

Flop: ($0.95) A 3 4 (2 players)
SB bets $0.45, Hero calls $0.45

Turn: ($1.85) T (2 players)
SB bets $1.32, Hero folds

Preflop - I raise A8s in the BU. SB re-raises 1 pot. It is a standart call to his 3bet for me.

Flop - SB bets 1/2 pot. I think it is a clear call.
Turn - SB bets 3/4 pot. I think that his range is AA,TT, ATs+,AJo+. Also, I expect him to occasionaly bet KK-JJ both on flop and turn. I decide to fold due to that he has shown a lot of strenght specially since the board was dry on the flop.

Would you call the turn bet and reevaluate the river?

Thanks

Man, no. Seriously, I dont think its a good call w A8s vs a guy that 3bets 4%. Its not a big sample, but enough for me to know he is 3betting a extremely value heavy range.
If u look what happened, u hitted ur ace and ended up folding anyway cause his range looks really strong... Actually, it was strong since the beggining, so u could avoid this by folding pre.

This. Even without the 3-bet stat, he's 3-betting 4x which, despite him beeing OOP already signals strength. We're just 100BBs deep, so we can find a fold pre. After we call, we are almost forced to call the cbet, otherwise the decision to call pre is just burning money. When he bets 1/2pot on dry and 3/4 when the board gets wetter that usually is a sign of a monster, so fold before you leveled yourself into doing something else.

Even vs unknown A8s is a bit loose call vs a 3b. You could better 4bet/fold it.
With the incorrect preflop move you 've put yourself into a strange position postflop where you do not know how you can win your money back.
I am not calling turn.

If you think he has such a strong range for 3betting (no bluffs, no KQ/KJs), why do you call preflop? Be careful every time you use the word standard to justify some play. Always ask yourself "Why is it standard?".

I meant that that was the part of his range that would bet on flop and turn. I do think he 3bets KQs-KJs as well 99-88 maybe, but is probably giving up on the turn.

Effective stack on the turn: (102 -9 -9= ) 84bb.
Villain Cbets 26bb leaving him and Hero after a call with a 58bb stack in a (37 +2x26= ) 89bb pot.
This means that the next bet will get both players all-in.

So the question is does Hero want to call an all in on the river with TP and a weak kicker unimproved?
If not what card does Hero need on the river to get a winning hand?

IMO Hero can not call the turn.

You can 3bet or fold this hand pre. I think you can call oft but when he bets again and increases his bet size he is probably holding a better ace than you have.
