Playing your big hands fast every time is the route to maximum value over the long term in the lower brackets. As Nitrol rightly says, checking here will get you into trouble spots if the board pairs; also, no one has noted yet that by checking you lose value from Ks Qs Js Ts. Heck its NL5. By checking you lose value against a whole array of NL5 villains who will draw on the turn with any spade.

Even if you hold AA and the board comes out something ridiculous like AA5, I'd bet-bet-bet vs many villains. You'll never understand why some of them can call three streets with 45 there, but it's all profit.

I try to run about 18 vpip 18 rfi 7 3b on full ring. Slightly loose to exploit the nits and rocks on 10zoom.

I dont think this hand is an image thing... i just think the villain didnt know that such a raise isolates him against hands he loses to... turning trips with an ace kicker into a stone cold bluff
