Hmm, no, this was definitely a call or even raise. It doesn't necessarily mean villain has 2 clubs in his hand. Nor always has a straight or trips. He could easily have A-10+ with 1 clubs and sometimes even no club. I also see some pocket pairs, which means that you are mostly ahead of his range. I'd say at least a call and maybe even a raise for value could justify IMO.

I think a raise is overplay. Flatting AK preflop vs possibly loosish villain is a bit of a trap play and we shouldnt be giving him so much credit on this board.

Easy call. Perhaps fold to a four flush runout on the river, call every other card.

We should call this turn and evaluate river. Villain has weaker hands that play like this too.

Overplayed and overthought exaclty what micro players tend to do for some time, overfolding will get you only red line really low. 3bet pre (SB's deep).

Usually flatting AKo COvMP is ok, here I think you could 3bet because you are both deep.
What do you guys think about raising flop?
Turn is a call. He necessarily doesn't have the flush and probably doesn't have 2x.

MP has 101BB and this is away from deep. :)
Dadramel is talking about the loose SB who acts behind preflop.
With a raise what hands will call on flop?

I would also like to know how people feel about raising the flop. It protects your hand against the draw and also gives you a bit more value against weaker aces in case the club hits the turn, killing your action. That being said a flop raise could also fold out any pocket pairs that might call one more street.

If you were to raise the flop, what would be the plan against a re-raise? We would also need a plan OTT and river after our raise, club or no club.

The plan changes completely if we 3-bet PF, but I also like to flat call AK in position sometimes, for deception and pot control. :f_biggrin:

Oops, my bad. I thought that villain is deep.
I believe on this board some draws, especially combodraws (6c7c, 7c8c), and lower Ax hands can call our raise. So it would be a good spot to charge his draws and weaker hands. I think by raising we wouldn't isolate ourselves only against better hands. That's why I was thinking about raising.

We are not aggressors in this hand. If villain decides to cbet here with a pocket pair, he most likely will shut down OTT. If he checks OTT and we bet he should fold any pocket pair to a A-high board. So I wouldn't worry about folding out PPs, there is no much value anyway.

I think by reraising he reps sets or FD+OESD. I think it is better to fold.

If he then checks the turn, I would bet it around 1/2. If he bets it I think his hand is stronger than TPTK and we can fold?
If he checks turn -> we bet, he calls -> he probably checks river too, then we can check behind. If he bets it is imo pretty clear he has better hand than TPTK and we can fold.

Ok, but all we have is TP and do we want to pump the pot and face hands with good equity against us?

Ok guys, now that you have posted your opinions, i'll be completely honest. I wanted to hear you before i say. This is some kind of tilt, i was running really good for a small session, like 2.5BI's up in 700 hands, i was at the end of the session, and that influenced my play. I didnt want to risk my good run on that hand, that made me make this questionable play and im actually happy you guys confirmed that. :f_thumbsup: I'm reading The Mental Game of Poker, and am working on that kind of issues.

Thanks again guys! :f_drink:

Maybe not. I don't think I would raise here but the idea just crossed my mind. I don't think it is optimal but would it be bad?

It is bad. We cannot improve much, we pump the pot thus folding weaker hands... I wouldn't do it.

Lads you need to 3bet preflop more especially with good hands.

The guy is reportedly a super-nit, so the slowroll could have been for real. It is sometimes called a nit-roll.
