PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $3.00+$0.40 Tournament, 50/100 Blinds (7 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

CO (t3860)
Button (t1465)
SB (t3100)
Hero (BB) (t1275)
UTG (t1445)
MP1 (t1005)
MP2 (t2850)

Hero's M: 8.50

Preflop: Hero is BB with 8♦, A♥
3 folds, CO raises to t200, 2 folds, Hero raises to t1275 (All-In), CO calls t1075

Flop: (t2600) Q♥, 6♠, 2♦ (2 players, 1 all-in)

Turn: (t2600) K♦ (2 players, 1 all-in)

River: (t2600) Q♠ (2 players, 1 all-in)

Total pot: t2600

I decided to push here since I thought the CO was just making a weak attempt to steal the blinds, I figured he had an above average, decent hand but I tought I could handle it with my A high. Blinds were about to rise so I figured a push was the best option here. So my question: should I have just called his raise and see the flop since I had 12BB left or did i make the right decision?

I think folding was the best option.

You can never (!) call a raise with these kinds of stacksizes. You only have 13BB, so your postflop edge is small. That's why you should always push-or-fold at this stage with <13BB

A8o is not good enough for a resteal, so fold it :)

Agreed... I'd only push AJs+ back at him if I knew him to be really tight... otherwise is AQ+

p.s. Viewer what happened to your gold status?

Hi all,

I prefer a range of A9s+, ATo+ for a resteal here. But yea A8o is too loose.
