$0.10/$0.20 No Limit Hold'em Cash, 6 Players

SB: $26.39 (132 bb)
BB: $26.82 (134.1 bb)
UTG: $21.49 (107.5 bb)
Hero (MP): $20 (100 bb)
CO: $10 (50 bb)
BTN: $20.26 (101.3 bb)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 3 A
UTG folds, Hero raises to $0.60, CO folds, BTN calls $0.60, 2 folds

Flop: ($1.50) 8 2 7 (2 players)
Hero bets $0.90, BTN calls $0.90

Turn: ($3.30) T (2 players)
Hero bets $1.98, BTN calls $1.98

River: ($7.26) 3 (2 players)
Hero checks, BTN bets $5.08

Just 4 hands on villain, he seemed fishy. I saw him limp once.

Pre, flop & turn seems standard to me. (A3s is normal open for me in MP)

OTR I hit a pair so I decided to check for showdown value and villain bets.

I believe that villain would raise most of his sets and 2 pair on the flop or on the turn on this board. I also think that 8x and 7x would check back on the river. So when he bets otr he has JJ/Tx or missed draw. I gave him this range:

Table: 7♥8♣2♣ T♦ 3♥
        WIN:
MP2    30.77%  { Ac3c }
MP3    69.23%  { JdJh, JdJs, TdTh, T9s, KcQc, QcJc, KcTc, QcTc, JcTc, 8d7d, 6d5d, 6h5h }

So the range:
Value range:
2 combos of JJ(that he did not 3bet)
1xSlowplayed TT
1xSlowplayed 78
K♣:T♣:/Q♣:T♣:/T♣:J♣:
9Ts

Bluff range:
K♣:Q♣:,J♣:Q♣:
2 combos of 56s

Vs this range we have 30,77% equity and we have 29% for the call.

BUT should I still fold this hand because we have better hands to bluff catch with on this spot, for example A♣:7♣:/99.

You should fold. You have a weak hand and do not need to put more money in.

I agree that villain might be bluffing frequently and your range looks ok and you are right that we have better bluffcatchers hence this should be a fold. If you actually folded this one I think you played this well.

What would be the worst hand to x/call this river. I think 99?

Maybe I would make a thin valuebet with JJ to target some weaker pockets and AT but if we bet here what hands do we expect to call us?

Aaaand that way we have a check calling range so our check doesn't automatically mean we are folding. We could tripplebarrel some missed draws and sets and then we can x/c hands like JJ,AT and x/f hands like this.

Maybe some overvalued TP ... but not always.

This is what these hands are for. If you x you have to fold without them.

That can happen sometimes but I like x/c more.

I like it too. That is why I suggested those hands. :)
