thank you for clarification.. I guess there are many lazy people like I am, who will never check their small printed rules.

btw: you can always use virtual machine (like VMware) and open browser inside, so their tracking software will see only VMware running, nothing inside.

Didn't know about this O.o (just had sharkscope opened 2 mins ago when I was playing poker).

sounds strange to me. I don't see why looking up a player who has chosen not to hide his stats is an unfair advantage if everyone can do it?

maybe they have banned using the sharkscope application only - the one that selects tables based on fishiness and registers you right in?

I guess protection to recreational players ( AKA fish ) that don't know sharkscope even exist , that's also a reason why datamining is not allowed since it's an advantage to the people who uses this information about oponents.

That's stupid too, because fish don't know PokerTracker or Telescope either and those are allowed...

I don't know that software, but Telescope does the same for cash games and it's allowed

How often are you sat at a table, and someone says, "this guy is a dick, he has lost $xxx in 500 SnG's"? People get sucked out on, and start intimidating other players using sharkscope. This is flaming and starts making the fish feel uneasy (as I would be quite pissed also).

Stars want happy customers, so they play more and create more rake.

Remember stars want all the fish they can get, they are the guys making regular deposits, which gets passed onto the bigger players to make rake with and so on.

never tbh... I dont play SNGs but as I said, PT + Telescope do the same for cash games, so I can't see the reason why they banned only sharkscope then. Oh, there's one reason: 80%+ of regulars would left Stars then

I know what you mean cannell, but those *** can use any other tracking software and say the same (+ it's so easy to still use it).

Well tbh, you don't get alot of cursing in this manner in cash games.

If you have PT, it is your own recorded information. Which is basically why they can seperate the 2 types of advantage. You are getting free information from sharkscope, but with PT, you are just saving your own information. Which is why datamining is not permitted. Theres a fine line between collecting information and taking information.

plus, knowone sat at a cash table can tell you what you have lost or won as a whole, on that site. Wheras sharkscope tells you exactly how much profit or loss a player has on SnG's on that site.

Well I can agree that poker tracker is alloud because you can only
get the data you see. And when I had poker tracker 3 open,
and I was trying to play around with the stats, on the hud,

I had just opened 4 SNGs to observe while I was playing around.

After some time, IDK 10 or 15 mins I got a msg saying it was closing
you are not alloud to have it running with out being a part of the tables
for so much time.

But what is strange, is Tournament Shark is alloud.

It is exactly like sharkscope maybe slightly less good.
You can goto the web page and search people for free.....
The only thing it has that Shark Scope does not ,is the ROI

You can opt in to see your ROI and have others see it but if you dont,
Then it wont show it.

Also, when you install Tournament Shark which is alloud by poker stars,
it attaches to your tournament tables, and it shows everyones stats,
It shows how many games played, how many have been won or lost,
and I think it either shows total profit and average profit, or just average.

But you can click on anyones name and it will show you the free page
version which is very similar to sharkscope.

And again it is right there on the alloud software examples.

They also have a Table shark, which may be a cash game version,
but I never bothered to look at it since I only play SNGS.

So yeah It is odd they banned sharksocpe while playing and not
Tournament Shark.

I have just tried tournament shark, and their info is pretty inaccurate anyway. Not much adds up on that site. Sharkscope was the same, doesn't include all played games.

not to knock you, but I closely followed my progress on tournament shark,

mind you in total I have way under 1k games, but it was right to the T.

Only time it missed games was when i tried to filter certain dates,
then It would miss one or two sngs.

I have 293 sngs on it.

But if you want something thats legal, I found it good enough to use
but the site can be VERY slow at peak times.

I wouldnt reccomend running the app that attaches to your tables if
you are 4 tabling like I do, it sits under your table and will overlap the ones below it.

But it is better then nothing and you cant get banned for it.

Also, at the lower limits, I just stopped using them all together,
From watching Chenny8888's videos, I just mark the multi
tablers, and make notes on them. Even players who are
winning players make tons of bad plays. So it was a waste of time
looking them up on tournament shark.

No I disagree

Sharkscope is mining the data themselves (3rd party = not allowed) and Telescope uses your own PostgreSQL database in which you played your own hands thus you have data over some people (= not 3rd party)

And Telescope is tilting you whenever you play on 1 monitor, play on al imit with 200+ tables ánd if you press on the wrong button (Suddenly on Scan All Tables or Lose all stats by pressing getting table lists = Tiltin Poker Player ♦)

Last few months I didn't play more tables than fit on 1 screen, so second is just for Telescope (quite expensive piece of software )
