[tg]MP3$25.50:///////;Hero$4.55:///////;[/tg]
0.1/0.25 No-Limit Hold'em (9 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: PokerStrategy Elephant 0.67 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is BU with 9♣, 9♦
4 folds, MP3 calls $0.25, CO folds, Hero raises to $1.25, 2 folds, MP3 calls $1.00.

Flop: ($2.85) Q♥, K♠, 7♠ (2 players)
MP3 checks, Hero bets $3.30 (All-In), MP3 calls $3.30.

Turn: ($9.45) A♥
River: ($9.45) 3♠ (1 players)

Final Pot: $9.45

Check/Fold? I rarely know what to do in such situations. Hold 77/88/99, someone calls and then 2 higher cards show and i'm not in position. The reason for the push was based in this line of thought -> well, he "could" (he actually called with Q6 :() only call with a K or a flush draw...let's try to steal the pot.

The board is draw heavy and there are cards from your range, so the board should be scary for your opponent and therefore you should have pretty high FE with your push. You would make the same play with AK/KQ/AQ/AA/KK... ...and all those hands have your opponent beaten, so he basically made a bad call here, actually he made a bad call preflop already. :)

At the time I felt like screaming to the monitor NO, NO, NO! HOW COULD YOU MAKE THAT CALL?!, but after the session I reviewed some hands and when this one came up I wasn't totally sure if my own move was the correct one. Thank you :).

It's true, when he will call you you are most of the time behind with 99, but this also means you will get paid off with your other hands.

Hello DejaLoin,

It doesn't make sense to bet 1/2 of your stack and fold to a shove therefore well shoved on the Flop :)

Best regards,
Gerv
