Pre Flop: (pot: $0.03) Hero has 9♦ 9♠

Turn: ($0.87, 2 players) 6♦

River: ($1.13, 2 players) 4♠
UTG bets $0.72, Hero raises to $3.38 and is all-in, fold

Hero wins $2.48

I know for a fact that I missed value on the turn here, but his stupid bet baffled me. And then he leads river, finally I come to my senses and shove OTT figuring that he would have 4bet AA PF and he can't have 53 there, which is the only 2 holdings that have me beat.

I'm just baffled by his turn and river bets, anybody got any thoughts on what he was doing?

Most likely is 2pair?

Maybe I'm just overthinking this and he was probably on something like AJ-AQ.

PS, yes it's NL2 so he's most probably a fish but would still be nice to get some thoughts.

Your 3b preflop vs unknown is too wide. Just call and see a flop.
Bet flop bigger. Raise turn.

I didn't want to give everybody a chance to come along and see a family pot, I'm quite happy to be 3bet folding there v UTG with 99.

Agree with the flop and turn bets needing to be bigger.

All villains are unknown, so till you collect some intel, you can call and see how they react.

Cheers, will take that advice on board.

What range do you put villian on here by the way?

Yup, I would just call pre. OTF you can bet bigger and OTT you can raise.
