OTT: x/c or donk the turn? Which do you think is better and why?
This kind of spot is something that leaves me really unsure what to do. Especially on wetter textures. On a dry board, my general line would be x/c F+T and donk the R if villain checks behind OTT. Where as in this kind of situation I expect your average NL5 player to checking back most of their draws on the Turn and maybe some weaker TP and pairs less than TP. This means that if I was to x/c the flop and donk the Turn I get value from worse Kx and draws, rather than giving them a free card and if I get raised then I am mostly crushed IMO, so it would seem like a fairly safe / sensible bet/fold to me.
If I had more info that villain is the type of player to barrel a lot (draws etc) then I am more inclined to x/c and let him barrel. However, I also need to be fairly comfortable with what a river barrel means from villain. I.e is he capable of triple barreling, as bluff with missed draws for example OR whenever villain barrels the river he has 2pr+ or something and is NEVER bluffing.
OTR: as played....
I felt that donking small would be better than checking as I felt villain would check behind a lot of worse hands OTR that might pay a bet if I donked. Sized it small to get value from weaker TP and some pairs less than TP.
