No Limit Holdem Tournament
$20 + $2 Sit & Go
4 players
Converted at weaktight.com

Stacks:
CO Jogge122 (2750)
BTN codeffa (6180)
SB Hero (2240)
BB pewterbird03 (2330)

Blinds: 80/160

Pre-flop: (240, 4 players) Hero is SB 9♠ 7♠
2 folds, Hero goes all-in 2,240, 1 fold

Final Pot: 320

OK, so we're on the bubble and 3 of us have similar stack sizes... All around 14-16 BB.... in the SB and I have this hand... Now folding gives BB chips which I dislike cos then I am definitely the shortstack... raising means he can resteal me pretty wide cos I have to call tight on the bubble, so I decided to push and maximise my fold equity....

What is the preferred line with 14-16BB in this situation?

I fold it. Can't argue with ICM :)

Folding will give BB a small chiplead, but not big enough enough for me to risk 14BB with 97s

edit: what does the sng wizard say? There should be a pushrange that's inexploitable, although I still prefer raising ISO pushing.

SNG Wiz says its a push.... it's +EV if villain calls with top 15%... If villain had a brain he would call tighter than this...

If villain only calls with 10% its an ATC push... but I don't think I am push ATC from here with 14BB...

Nothing wrong with a push here... It's +++variance but still a profitable push... Folding is also good it will give you a bunch of time to find a better spot with your 13.5bb's... we are in no hurry here... raising Is the worst option imo... since he'll overshove wide variant of hands and you'll so often have to throw away your 97s...

I put on my special move shoes here and complete the sb and donk 1bb raise on any flop... but that's just my hero style..

That line sounds OK btw, although I really dont like it when I'm 15BB deep. Little room to "outplay villain" postflop.

We don't need much room to outplay villain postflop. We just need a donkmove and 50% fold to donkbet.

Hi all,

I push here against most opponents. I don't like taking Hlynkinn's line here because we are on the bubble, which means if we complete (or raise) or do anything other than go all-in, it gives our opponent room to do so. And because it's the bubble he will know he has a lot of fold equity, etc etc.

Cliffnotes: push!
