Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has A♦ J♣

Hero raises to 3 BB, fold, fold, fold, SB raises to 9 BB, fold, Hero calls 6 BB

Flop: (19 BB, 2 players) J♠ 8♥ 5♠
SB bets 11 BB, Hero calls 11 BB

Turn: (41 BB, 2 players) T♦
SB bets 20 BB, Hero calls 20 BB

River: (81 BB, 2 players) A♥
SB checks, Hero bets 29 BB, SB calls 29 BB

preflop: dont think i should be 4betting here
flop: i dont see any sets here that would 3bet me pre, so i figure he has something like AK AQ KQ, maybe TT
turn: TT hits the set here but i feel that AK AQ KQ would also be betting here so the call is ok?
river: bet for value vs hands like AK AQ with the plan to fold vs a big reraise

As played I think calling turn too and betting river for thin value is fine, but there are some things I would change and your reasoning is not so good in my opinion.

Villain is unknown and you open from UTG so he is probably 3betting with tight range. Why do you think you shouldn't be 4betting here? I think your hand is so weak that I would fold this pre but if you want to play this, I would definitely 4bet bluff. We can't call with so weak hand.

There might not be any sets OTF and villain might have AK,AQ and KQ even if those are not that likely. Most likely hands are QQ+, which you seem to forget totally.

Turn I don't think gutshots will be barreling so often.

He could easily take this line with many of the hands you mentioned above, especially if both cards are spades. So the way you played it is perfectly fine.

as played - feeling the QQ KK vibes. ship it and hope he puts you on missed draw

I would just call it down OTR.

Dont like that 3bet call against an unknown player

Preflop is a fold.
I like it postflop.

I think it is well played. The thin value OTR is good IMO.
