PokerStars - $0.05 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

Hero (SB): 100 BB
BB: 204.2 BB (VPIP: 41.67, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: 16.67, Hands: 12)
UTG: 120 BB (VPIP: 31.58, PFR: 26.32, 3Bet Preflop: 5.88, Hands: 38)
MP: 62 BB (VPIP: 59.26, PFR: 33.33, 3Bet Preflop: 12.50, Hands: 27)
CO: 100 BB (VPIP: 17.91, PFR: 12.69, 3Bet Preflop: 2.99, Hands: 134)
BTN: 131 BB (VPIP: 17.24, PFR: 10.34, 3Bet Preflop: 6.25, Hands: 31)

Hero posts SB 0.4 BB, BB posts BB 1 BB

Pre Flop: (pot: 1.4 BB) Hero has 8♦ 8♣

UTG raises to 3 BB, MP calls 3 BB, fold, fold, Hero calls 2.6 BB, fold

Flop: (10 BB, 3 players) 6♥ 2♦ Q♦
Hero checks, UTG bets 5 BB, fold, Hero calls 5 BB

Turn: (20 BB, 2 players) 7♣
Hero checks, UTG checks

River: (20 BB, 2 players) 7♥
Hero checks, UTG bets 20 BB, Hero calls 20 BB

UTG is a fish. I saw him donk shoving a K high 3-bet pot on the flop with 77, saw him raising 4x a c-bet with top-pair, and I also saw him checking the turn and the river OOP with sets.

That said, are you calling his river bet? I can't put him in any range, his play is totally random to me.

Qx is betting turn in most cases. What could he has otr - busted FDs, AK, AJ, KJ, 89s - it is enough for hero to call.

He can play low Qx like that. I am not calling.

So your villain is unpredictable and can do pretty much anything but every time he had some kind of hand. Also he was able to slowplay a strong hand. This is a fold for me, I guess. Although calling can't be very bad.

In spots like that about and more 20bb at river fishes rare bluffs by pot size bets, they can easily do it in up to 15 bb pots. Anyway, if you wish to watch cheap sd , blocking bet could be an option. The way it is played, I would fold any bet more than 1/2 of the pot.

The problem with calling is that you cannot lose too many times as we need to make up for the loss. I am folding then here.

I like folding more than calling. He cbets flop multi-way so should generally be stronger than head-up, especially when he plays UTG (if he is positionally aware). We can call once, I believe, but not twice, especially vs this sizing. When we have a read that he is a donkey, I don't hate calling, but I would rather fold.

Calling affects variance more than EV. I personally prefer others to make the hero calls so I can take notes for free, and make a more informed decision the next time.
