Hero (SB): $1.61 (80.5 bb)
BB: $0.98 (49 bb)
UTG: $1.44 (72 bb)
MP: $0.81 (40.5 bb)
CO: $0.99 (49.5 bb)
BTN: $0.81 (40.5 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K♣: K♦:
4 folds, Hero raises to $0.06, BB calls $0.04

Flop: ($0.12) 9♣: 6♣: 8♥: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.09, BB calls $0.09

Turn: ($0.30) 9♥: (2 players)
Hero bets $0.20, BB calls $0.20

River: ($0.70) 8♣: (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $0.63 and is all-in, Hero calls $0.63

My plan was to bet flop and turn and then xc river against stabs and possibly busted draws. However when villain bets big on river I think this looks pretty bad for our hand and I think we can probably find a legit fold unless we have reads that villain is aggressive?

River completes the club flush draws, however there may still be some busted straight draws and heart flush draws. We also loose if villain hits 9x or 8x on the flop.

vs shortstack we can call river. He cannot bet small as he has less than pot left.

I agree with Calling on the river here

This is 888poker NL2 where max stack size is 50bb, so I would treat him as a normal unknown player instead of a good player that has some kind of sense how to play short stacked. Call call shove is still a very strong line and his bet size is close to a pot. I think calling because villain is short and can't bet small is a wrong reason to call. If we believe we have enough equity, we can call this.

easy fold, you are beaten by 9x, 8x AND the flush. what are you expecting to happen?

Would open from SB 5bb and pot the flop, avoid playing KK in a small pot.

He has about a million made hands and little, like :Ax::7x:, to bluff with. You could fold all overpairs except AA and have a decent bluff catching frequency.
