Say I'm holding AQo in the cut-off and facing a raise from UTG. In this scenario most of the time I will just call, but sometimes raise. But why should I call most of the times? Does it have to do with the fact that if I raise to often I will face a 4-bet more often and AQ is not a good hand to call a 4-bet with, even if I have position? How about hands that are better to call 4-bet's with, like suited connectors etc. Should my raise to call ratio for these hands be higher? Should I raise more then calling with such hands in comparion with the AQo?

I think that vs unknown, given the positions, we can 3bet only KK+ for clear value (UTG open range is very tight). Then we should not bluff 3bet a wide range because we will be vulnerable to 4bets. That's why we mostly call. If opponent doesn't defend enough vs 3bets, or he rarelly 4bets, our 3bet range could be wider than calling range. If he folds alot to 3bets, we can 3bet alot of speculative hands as a bluff (we will have alot of profitable spots preflop). If he doesn't fold alot to 3bets, but rarelly 4bets, we can 3bet alot of higher-equity hands we would call otherwise (we will have alot of profitable spots postflop).
AQ would be a bluff 3bet and if called we isolate ourselves vs better hands. We can call to at least keep a wider range with some lower pp and lower Kx and Ax hands
Poker Snowie believes that raising an UTG open with 45s should be done 100% of the time when you are UTG+1. Should I believe this? It claims that it will be +0.26 EV
Now, it very much depends on 3 things.
1. What is villain's opening range from utg?
2. How much does he fold vs 3b?
3. How much does he 4b and how much is he calling?
If he opens a normal range and he calls too much, then you can 3b AQo for value here.
