the lag raises from BTN for a min raise his range is pretty wide probably 40-70% there are tons of draws in his range, Kh7h+ Qh8h+ Jh8h etc there is only 3 combos of AJ that beat you, any sets are raising the flop, so there all discounted, any over pair should raise the flop too, witch really leaves on the river missed draws and AJ, since there is 3 combos in his value range, and loads of busted draws check call the river is the best option, the bet on the river is strange though, a bluff wouldnt usually bet so small, so im thinking he had AJ, but your hand is too strong to fold.

I believe you made a mistake preflop, not on the turn, since he is bluff heavy, you should 4bet this hand, it blocks 3 hands JJ that would call a 4bet, kk and AK that would shove.

If you do call preflop, your only bluff catching, he has 2 3betting ranges, value and bluffs, when you lead out his value range only continues, whereas if you check you can try and narrow his range down by seeing his turn action, since hes probably going too bet the flop usually double barrels indicate value, whereas bet/check/bet is more bluffs.

Also 40 hands isnt that many hands, unless you see some hands hes 3betting with i would just give him credit before making adjustments

Agree that the cold 4 bet pre-flop is good option. I have it in my repertoir from time to time. On the other hand KJs has a lot of playability and could play well in this spot, therefore I like the call as well.

River I checked with the idea to call back if he bets his missed draws.

Turn is where I feel most uncomfortable to bet, but dont like checking as well since i will induce a lot of bluffs. Therefore elected to bet.

Your feeling uncomfortable because your lacking confidence in your game, i recommend you read the mental game of poker, I used to feel like this in 3bet pots, since i conquered most of these problem i play them much better, you need to think harder when you in 3bet situations.

It might be fear then, what we say to ourselves, give us information to what mental game problems we have.

Like for example you said you feel uncomfortable, im no expert in the mental game but im sure this is due to either confidence or fear, you should look it up, check that book out its by far the best book ive studied.

I do not like the preflop call too. 4b or fold.
Postflop is ok.
