fish, no stats

usually I do not limp call, but I see SB has position in HU there and saw also some coaches doing limps in SB.

First I tried to steal with 3 bb opens, but he quickly started defending by shoving. After I had to fold couple of times , maybe those folds were bad, I decided its too expensive to loose 3bb so often.

On flop I guess easy shove w FD + GS

First of all congrats making it HU but it confusing that you have made it HU in mtt and have no stats/read on player by this time you should know some of his leaks.

I don't think we need 3x this stack debt (10-25bb), we probably can get away with 2x or 2.5x.
If he is aggressive 3better i think this is fine limp hand and we have to call raise IP.
I would think there is better hands to limp/raise then T9o what plays fine postflop.
I would not hate open shove with this hand also if you don't feel comfortable limping.

I think so. With so big pot and our hand we cannot check or bet small.

Pre-flop you don’t have a good stack and hand to defend on his 3x raise. So I would fold here with 12bb left. Now you invest ¼ of your stack. Also I would most likely push/fold in spots like this.

As played I would most likely check/behind, because if you bet or shove you need to have decent amount of fold equity and I don’t think he would fold to often to make a bet or push profitable.

Hey, SDK

Some ideas what not considered.
Wanted just add some things and ask on some things.

Preflop. When we get raised we have already invested 1bb what is not ours anymore so it 2bb with more then 2:1 odds and needing like 32% equity vs his range.
Just was thinking i would not want limp hand what we have right odds even vs tight range to call after raised. OP said he is 3betting often (reason why OP said decided start implement limping) so there is good chance he isolate limps also aggressive as it make even less risk to do it then 3betting, just thinking lot limp/fold with hands strong enough to shove first or have enough equity to l/c can't be good strategy vs aggressive player then.

On flop Our plan is give up hand?
I don't think we can get away with checking without giving up often.
On flop i would think by checking we are capping our range in opponent eyes because we would bet our pair hands to protect from all draws out there and he can take stab turn very often and get folds.
I am also thinking what non pair hands we are betting here if we are giving up with this hand what is one of stronger draws here having gs+fd+2overs for 2nd pair what have good equity vs any reasonable hand if called.
If we have good equity when called we no need that much fold equity but he is also somewhat capped when he check to us very wet board where he would try defend his good hands from all straight draw/flush draws so i can see some fold equity out there.

thanks. The problem was that my pokertracker hud does not work on zoom tournaments. So I was just making some notes on other players, but did not have time to make on this one, besiddes when playing HU I saw that he is agro.

With 2x open I did not want to give him good odds. On the other hand, in MTT HU I have position postflop, so maybe not a huge problem to give good odds preflop. In cash 6max I heard coach saying that because of ods BB vs SB minraise he would call even 72o.

Yes, There is difference in positions being bvb and HU.
Bvb i would very rarely today games open 2-2.5x from sb because bb correctly defends being IP by calling or 3betting almost all his hands.
However in HU sb have position (dealer button) going forwards postflop.
Also 100bb playing your position is lot more important then playing 10-25bb deep as hand often will end by all-in on preflop or flop. While 100bb you find hard decisions on turn and river.
Basically you said right, there is no big problem shortstacked HU with position give good odds.
